Schipper scores! Power Play goal, 1-0 Gophers. Cameranesi and Pannek with the assists.

.. point #100 for Schipper
point #200 for Cameranesi
audio from Dan has been nonexistent this period, so I switched to WI audio, ... interesting, two guys

Cameranesi had to be helped off the ice. Looked like she twisted her right knee.

For reasons we ended up listening to both MN and WI audio at different times. Both gave high praise to the refs for "letting them play" then both complained that the game was getting chippy. Somehow these guys cannot connect that the former leads to the latter. Hope she is OK

Empty Net Goal by Schipper seals it. 2-0 final.

Out of respect I am taking up a collection to pay for the stitches Timothy A is going to need to close his wrists.

37 saves for Peters, a career high, she deserves star of the game!

Really good, well played game by two really good (and evenly matched) teams. Gophers got one to go in today, and the Badgers didn't. Oh, well. Lace 'em up and go again tomorrow.

Exactly! It sounded like a great game & it is December not March. We could end up 3-3-0 this year too. I love the games between these two teams.

It didn't seem like the injury had anything to do with chippy play. In live action, it seemed like she went down after a pretty run of the mill scrum for the puck in the corner. I was actually alarmed at how long the refs let play go on while she was down - there wasn't a whistle until after a Gopher shot was deflected into the netting. Based on the way she was trying to flex her knee while on the ice and then how she tried to get up, I'd be concerned about something like an ACL. Hopefully that's not the case.

The puck was in the corner (nearest to me - from the blue line) and a Badger was there first. Cameranesi came in a beat or two later to dig the puck. I couldn't tell if she stumbled a bit, or lost an edge, etc; there was at most a bit of 'hip check' or otherwise shielding the puck by the Badger (I didn't notice who). Nothing remotely approaching a penalty, or anything "chippy". Just digging for the puck in the corner, like happens a hundred times a game. Unfortunately, she went down "funny". I hope she's OK.

Haven't the Gophers already lost Woken for the season with a knee injury?

No, and I didn't mean to imply it did though I see that is my fault. Was on the MN audio at that time & Dan was very clear that she collided a Badger by accident. Dan was complaining about chippy play (by both teams) just before that happened. SHortly after that I was back on the WI audio and they mentioned chippy play also. I should have made it clear that I was not tying it to the injury, sorry.

I hadn't heard that, but if true that would be a big blow. I'm was hoping Woken (and now Cameranesi) will be good to go by the start of the second half.

Just got back from the ER, send that check promptly please. No reason for me to be upset, UM and UW played a good game, UM gets a lucky break and scored on a pp where the UW D loses her stick and UM goes right at the opening and bang it's in. Peters looked shaky, but she let nothing in the net.

I hope she is that shaky the rest of the season.

BTW - Tim
Just talked to my friend at NCAA and Kessel asked for another 1/2 season of eligibility seeing as how she only got 1/2 of last years. They agreed and she will be back with the Gophers after January first, the announcement will be made while the team is in Boston next week.

I knew that day would come! I knew it!!! I'm ripping these stitches out of my wrists right now. It's over. Don't send the check if you haven't already. If you did send it, I've instructed my family to spend it on UW hockey swag.

Re: Minnesota Women's Hockey 2016-2017 (aka Season 20)

Lines are published. No Cameranesi today. Schipper moving up to first line, Reilly moving from left to right to join 2nd line, and Agnew up to 3rd line. Gunderson comes in as the 11th forward; Frosty still going with 7 D.

So glad you have come to accept your fate
