Minnesota @ Wisconsin: Secondary Rivalry, Just As Much Hatred

Alrighty then... Hockey talk it is..

I hope the Gophs come out strong, they seem to struggle a bit when not in the drivers seat..
And I noticed something very disconcerting about Patterson, and I hope it was my imagination after watching this past series about 10 times now on the good ole DVR... He's suspect upper glove side... As a matter of fact that first goal let in by ND on Sat night from the slot, had some heat but his reflex seemed slow, sure enough the next shot from Grimaldi (upper glove side) zipped right in... So i hope that was coincedental or atleast nothing to be overly concerned about.

Watch the stupid penalties please.. And please Ambroz, contribute...

Not worried about Patterson at all. If we play our game and stay away from the stupid penalties (we're the most penalized team in the WCHA thus far), I think we'll be ok.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: Secondary Rivalry, Just As Much Hatred

Word has it 3 Blatz beer trucks followed by only 1 Charmin TP truck were heading to Madison, some kind of big party or something I guess.

How has Ambroz looked this year? He's fallen far from his "Can't Miss" prospect status from when he committed at 15.

To be honest, I think he's showing us why his draft stock fell. He's been physical presence, but has taken some dumb penalties. And while he has shown a few flashes offensively, he has disappeared for stretches.

Then ask them. The two times I've made comments about this weekend's games, the thread has sat dead. Then Gunderflowin comes back and starts this discussion back up.

Am I not supposed to reply because you don't like it?

Seriously, can you be a bigger whiner?
I'm whining? Ok:confused:

I'm just bored of having derailed threads with your arguments back and forth with sue last week and becky this week. I'll just keep whining, I guess.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: Secondary Rivalry, Just As Much Hatred

What's the point? Can't get a word in with you guys going back an forth literally every five minutes.

It would be nice to get some insight from BADger fans on this weekends series but you are arguing with two of like five sconnie fans that are on this board and the rest are absent so all I know so far is that they are hoping Rumpel starts both nights. Other than that I know nothing because you guys have been bickering for the past 2+ days.

Sorry man, I'm just bored.

• Rumpel seems to be steadier and most of us think he should get both starts this weekend. Peterson (the other goalie) seems to give up too many fat rebounds - at least to my eyes. This doesn't come as a surprise as Rumpel was always thought to be the better prospect.

• Schultz has at times looked like quite possibly the best defenseman that we've had here in many years and that's saying something. Very smooth and a man amongst boys at times on the ice. Too bad he can't skate 60 minutes.

• There's a lot of young talent on this team and they've already started to contribute. We're seeing some dangling and individual creativity that I haven't seen here since Sauer left.

• This team is young and they are showing it. At times, they look flat and disinterested and at other times they look talented enough to hang with anybody. The question will be which team shows up Friday and after that, how they respond on Saturday to either a flat effort or an inspired effort.

It's gonna be an up and down year and at this point, I am hoping that they stay competitive and learn so that next year they will be able to apply what they've learned and become a contender. I haven't given up on this season, but we're very young and it isn't too often that a young team is able to win a championship.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: Secondary Rivalry, Just As Much Hatred

The bolded I can agree with and it makes sense. But that's not what you two have been saying.

You want to tie all that to Mariucci, fine. But to say that most kids start for the reason that you have been saying is silly.

Well honestly I think that is what we were saying.. Alot of kids start playing hockey in MN even before they understand what a college is let alone a gopher. But it was the vision and action of Mooch and that program that catapulted leisure hockey into a full blown culture in MN. When we get to that age of dreaming to be a police officer, doctor, fireman etc is when all that started.. I can remember going to the rink and all the kids had on their favorite torn up sweaters, north stars and gophers were it here. you just weren't cool if ya didnt have one of those on.. Ofcourse its silly, but its true.

I hope we see Peterson. Rau like those juicy rebounds.;)

THEN TALK HOCKEY AND STOP COMPLAINING!

Seriously, it's getting really, really old. If you don't like the direction of the thread, then try and steer it a different direction. Your comments are doing nothing but further derail the thread.

Started strong and has taken quite the fall since.. Took a game misconduct on Friday night with a boneheaded penalty.. I think he's on a very short leash with Lucia right now..

The best part is that it's the exact same argument!

Now we have the gopher fans arguing amongst themselves. Just as we planned all along.

Now maybe you know how I feel reading through these threads about crap that I don't want to read instead of talking about the series at hand....

Rebounds are going to be huge for Rumpel. Our guys have been very good around the net (especially Rau).

Two young teams will be interesting to watch.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you have 21 underclassmen and we have 19. When does youth and inexperience stop being an excuse?

JDubbs, that's enough, man. Give it a rest.
