Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: Secondary Rivalry, Just As Much Hatred

This ridiculous discussion is why I will miss the Sioux rivalry, and why that rivalry is head and shoulders above the badger/Goph rivalry.. For as harsh as that sounds its true Badger fans.. Very true.

*YAWNS*

Can we talk about the current hockey programs instead of arguing about the past?:confused:

So are you debating that Mariucci urged Bob Johnson to recruit in state?

This is getting better by the post.. How much money ya willing to wager?

Not debating it. Try reading again.

I'm arguing that we have gotten the bulk of our instate blue chippers, but it would be stupid for UW to be as exclusive with local talent as Mariucci was because there just isn't enough to go around.

You're right. Sioux fans never bring up the 7>5 conversation...

We get that you think the Sioux rivalry is greater. No need to point it out in every post you make.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: Secondary Rivalry, Just As Much Hatred

So in the end, Badger Bob was just as ineducable as ExileOnDaytonStreet. ;)

At first there wouldn't be. You're right. And now you know why the Gophers struggled in the 1950's and 60's. However, they are in a MUCH better position today because of those struggles. That's what we are trying to explain to you, but you're too stubborn to listen.

Exactly and precisely the difference between MN Hockey and WI Hockey, including knowledge and respect of tradition and history of the sport.

Jeez, this comes across as over the top arrogant even to a self-proclaimed arrogant Gopher fan

Read the thread. We didn't start this. But I am not going to have a Badger hockey fan tell me what were and were not the biggest catalysts for the growth of Minnesota hockey.

I'm sorry the truth comes off as arrogance, but facts are facts.

I know it does. But the difference between the two are vast.. Theres alot of dislike between the Siuox/Gophs but more respect. The Badger/Goph rivalry is just hate and zero respect.

What I hear most often from Goph fans is they dislike the Sioux, but respect the program and the fans, I hear something entirely different when talking Badger hockey.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: Secondary Rivalry, Just As Much Hatred

You're bad at arguing. Your points are so stupid they don't even warrant being torn apart. We're all happy that your son plays hockey for the reasons you state. But just because he started playing due to your love of the game doesn't mean that every child everywhere took up the game for that same reason.

So you're going to stick with that most 5-6 year olds and their parents join (or joined back in the day) youth hockey because they believe (d) they could be a Gopher some day? Talk about stupid points...

Most kids who play youth hockey had parents who play (ed) hockey or have parents who were looking for a sport amongst many sports that their kid might enjoy.
