Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 1/30 & 1/31

I believe gofers skaters have collectively played in almost 500 more games than the Badgers have.

Learn to read.

Minnesota actually has a younger roster (age wise, not class wise) then Wisconsin. But I think Chuck/Andy hit the nail on the head. The team is missing the energy that guys like Serratore and experience on the backend that guys like Holl Parenteau brought.

Gophers are the younger, yet more experienced at this level, roster.

In fact, Minnesota, Michigan, and Michigan State all have younger rosters than the Badgers do.

There's a 1:40 stretch of the 2nd period I highly recommend. :D
I watched on my DVR too. It was late and I was pretty tired, but that 100 second stretch gave me new life, and even a little bit of hope that the Gophers aren't quite done, just yet [half full]. Then reality set in, as I remembered that it was the Badgers, a team that's only won twice all season [half empty]. Still, it's a start....[a third full maybe?]

Believe or not, I can read. I can also juggle, do math, and even have a halfway decent slap shot. Some of that is relevant, some of it isn't.

Your response to Biddy's statement about Badger youth was that the Gophers are younger. How is that relevant in any sort of context?

Especially when considering the players who actually skated in last night's game, which actually does seem relevant to me, the Badgers were younger by almost 7 total years. And that includes the Badger's 25 year old red shirt senior, Chase Drake. So the Badgers on the ice are younger by age; probably more importantly, have a half-dozen players playing that aren't physically mature yet; and have played in almost 500 less games total than the Gophers.

Congrats. You were perhaps factually accurate on something almost entirely meaningless in the context of the question at hand. And after all, sniping at me for making an actual relevant comment is what's really important.

Don't sweat Dubbie.

He's back out from under his rock now that the Gophers won a game.

I don't. But I also don't mind thinking that in some dark basement somewhere he's currently researching the time of day each player was born in addition to calculating leap years and the gravitational effect on spacetime in Wayzata, all in an effort show that the statement I made was wrong.

Given this weird season it's almost comforting in a way to know some things haven't really changed.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 1/30 & 1/31

Even a tDon2 (Tony Lucia), along the Serratore lines. tDon2 always brought the energy and charisma.

I fully agree. I was going to say something as such, but Tony was a bit polarizing to fans and as I am/was a pretty big closet fan of his ( whioux can forget his take-down of Zajak as time expired ) and didn't want to be ridiculed, I kept mum. Mum no more!

Apparently you cannot read. Here, i separated out the pertinent parts of the discussion so you won't be so easily confused.

At least Wisconsin could go with the youth factor.....

"At least Wisconsin could go with the youth factor", implying MN isn't as youthful as WI.

Minnesota actually has a younger roster (age wise, not class wise) then Wisconsin.

The only comment out of context was yours saying Minnesota has more D1 game experience. No one (including me) disputed that.

I've been here the whole time. Travelled last week on business.

In fact, I believe I was one of the first here to recognize this Gopher squad for what it was and call it out here.

Beating the Badgers last night hardly makes me feel any better about our season. In fact, surrendering 5 against a team averaging under 2 goals a game makes me feel sick :(

Actually, I had the data from when I did my demographics in college hockey piece a few months back.

Kinda funny watching you challenge anything that even remotely challenges the fact that the Badgers have been epically embarrassing this season though. Still laughing at the lengths you have taken this discussion on a simple factual remark I made. Wonder what excuse you'll adamantly defend next? Anything to bolster your apologies I suppose.

Badgers and Gophers both suck. Embrace the suck my friend :)

You didn't address this statement.

Because I don't dispute it.

Unlike Wisko, I don't care to use youth as an excuse. The Gophers were incredibly young last season and made the National Championship game.

I guess expectations over here are a bit different.

Gophers have been a massive disappointment this season, and I place the blame squarely on the team and the coaching.

He got a lot of flak for being on the 2nd line (IIRC that was his regular place) because he didn't put up numbers; many thought "daddy's boy" treatment, which of course helped in Mario's choice in schools (which was also influenced by his dad; tDon knew the pressures given tDon2's experience).

I was always a fan of tDon2, because of the energy he brought. You need people like that so others CAN get their numbers.

Wow. That was dirty. Should see a suspension handed down from the league but we won't.
