to insult the gopher tradition is insulting a lot of great coaches- including YOUR OWN HEAD COACH. to say gopher fans are living off past success when theyre entering this weekend #1 in the country is laughable. st cloud fans are living off of the gophers past three years of mediocrity. as a gopher fan.. i have always also supported st cloud. i have met some real cool hockey fans from the st cloud area. but man their fans on this website are annoying.

You are not making a good case for the intelligence level of the Husky fans here. I would think anyone would know that there were DVDs in 2002 and 2003.:p Or do you not even know that the Gophers won back-to-back national titles in '02, '03?:confused:

This year is proving to be every bit as enjoyable.

Just a thought: would you need a DVD to capture the the wealth of the of the Huskies successes, or just a postcard?

Meaning the Gophers had multiple opportunities where bouncing pucks jumped their sticks, the puck had eyes to stay out of our net, etc. They were a snake-bitten team last night. I hope it continues tonight.

By the way, it took UMD over 50 years to achieve their National Title. That does not mean they were not a competitive program prior to last year. UNH has never won a title. That must mean they suck, eh?

Many of us appreciate the Gophers program. It's great to see local kids do well from around the state and love to see them skating in our building. Hope all of the Gopher fans that made the trip to the NHC were treated well by our fans.

Tonight will be another good test to see where the Huskies are at this season.

Let me assure you when Cloud is on the doorstep of an NCAA title most of MN will be cheering you on.. Dont let a few internet posters speak on behalf of the entire Gopher fanbase.. Great game last night btw... I hope for a different result tonight.

The Husky success sure isn't much, everyone knows that. I just think it's funny that gopher fans always always need to bring back their PAST success. You will NOT be #1 after this weekend, that's obvious. Also, to say the gophers have been mediocre the last 3 years is pretty humorous. I thought mediocre meant okay, not way below average.

You're absolutely right and I don't. That was a direct response to 2.0. I enjoy most gopher fans. We have a few gems as well.

We hovered around a .500 record. That's mediocre. By GOPHER standards, that's way below average. However, GOPHER standards are other-worldly. Many teams would love to have a .500 record.

Didn't predict nor anticipate a sweep.

And for the record nobody I'm aware of is saying that NC's are a the only measure of success. It is but one. NC playoff success is yet another. Just ask UMD and UNH.

I always have to remind myself that the majority of MINNESOTA Hockey fans are pretty proud people in general, not exclusive to any 1 certain team. Btw, I love that Husky Sweater!! Little "Habsish" haha but I've always liked it...

How bout your boy Cullen? Lighting it up this year eh!!

It was a fun game to watch.

Although it struck me as 'dejavu all over again' watching the Huskies play so well and knowing that I've seen his before.

And I know how it ends.

The Gophers played some sloppy hockey last night and they still almost came back and won the game, bad passing, horrible back checking, not picking anyone up in the defensive zone. Terrible I was yelling at the TV, they looked like they were very flat last night. I have watched every game this year and that was probably the sloppiest game I have seen this year. If I was Lucia I would have skated the **** out of them after the game last night!!!!!!!! Hopefully tonight the boys are ready to skate and play there game and if they do st cloud has no chance, but if we play like last night we are screwed!!!!!!!

Couldn't agree more.. Last nights game was pretty bad. Not sure whats going on with Fri night games as of late but I hope Guentzel and Lucia gets those boys in line.. On the other hand Cloud looked pretty solid.
