Minnesota Twins: 2013 Season Thread

Re: Minnesota Twins: 2013 Season Thread

Above .500 15 games in.

Very surprised, but very pleased. Two winnable games coming up against Miami before a rough stretch featuring Texas and Detroit to close out April. 4-5 in the next 9 would be great, and would mean a .500 record in May.

I think 4 of the next six is definitely possible. Miami is HORRID. I think tomorrow gets rained/snowed/too cold out anyways, though.

Are we really that surprised? I thought most people were on the near-.500 bandwagon...

I think most were predicting 70 or less wins. I tend to believe 75 or so is reachable but would still put money on less.

I thought that 70-75 was a realistic goal coming into the season, with 81 being a stretch goal. They certainly have the talent offensively to win 81 games, but I don't think they have the pitching. I really hope they prove me wrong because it is looking like 85-87 wins just might win the division this year. That being said, I really hope they use this year as a springboard for next year, similar to the 2001 season.

I simply meant that they would be in May and have a .500 record...something I never really thought possible. Going 4-5 over their next 9 would put them at 12-12 on May 2nd.

Re: Minnesota Twins: 2013 Season Thread

I put them at 80 +/- 5 games going into spring training. Guess I'm just an eternal optimist.

Re: Minnesota Twins: 2013 Season Thread

3-run HR by Arcia has the Twins up 4-2 over the lowly Marlins in game 1 of a split DH.

Re: Minnesota Twins: 2013 Season Thread

5 game losing streak followed by a 5 game winning streak.
Bi-polar Twins this year I guess.

Re: Minnesota Twins: 2013 Season Thread

What a ridiculous game so far. Boston has sent out two young pitchers and they have both gotten torched. It's the freaking 3rd inning and they have 11 runs. Too bad Hernandez can't stop the bleeding, and has given up 6, including a grand slam.

Re: Minnesota Twins: 2013 Season Thread

Everyone except Carroll, Mauer, Willingham, and Arcia has two (or more) RBIs.

Everyone has scored at least once.

Re: Minnesota Twins: 2013 Season Thread

The craziest thing about this, of course, is that I'm still not comfortable with the lead.

Oh, and Hicks getting a hit.
