Anyone else notice how watching the white sox tonight must have been like watching the twins in the first two months?

Wave goodbye to first place Ozzie, maybe you'll get to see it again next april. :)

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010 Season Part III, {sigh}

It wasn't a very well-played series -- both teams had their moments of acting like these were throw-away games. But bottom line is Twins took 2-of-3 on the road, so it's all good. I just hope that after all this time on the road of late they don't have to relearn Target Field all over again.

To date:
Left field wall: 74
Delmon Young: 0
I like the Wil-E-Coyote's chances of catching the Road Runner before Delmon squeezes one against the wall.

Whoo Hooo! Twins are leading!!! World Series Baby!!!
(Does Handyman feel better now?)

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010 Season Part III, {sigh}

Don't worry Twins fans.

The White Sox are fakers. They'll inevitably make a late season swoon and the Twins will win out in the end.

The White Sox are competitive and could have possibly been far and away favorites if they had a little more offense and not so much suck in the late inning pitching department.

The Tigers are an enigma on paper but underachieving in reality.

The Royals are the Royals so they're naturally irrelevant.

The Indians are one step better than the Royals. (Or the Chicago Cubs of the AL Central, take your pick)

Though it's not really safe to overlook the rest of the regular season and start planning for playoff contingencies, I don't see the Twins missing the playoffs. The White Sox are just too shaky when it matters the most.

That's my (as Handyman puts it) "always wrong" opinion, anyways. :)

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010 Season Part III, {sigh}

I just realized Fox's Saturday baseball ad with the stadiums on a map of the US still has the Metrodome for Minnesota.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010 Season Part III, {sigh}

The Twins often seem to bonk coming out of a showdown series, so I'm happy for the win, ugly though it was. They do seem to be getting a lot more out of their supporting cast than in recent history. That 3B can be part of the solution on occasion instead of always part of the problem is huge. About three years ago they had black holes at 3B, LF, and DH. The roster is in much better shape these days.

Nice to see Delmon getting a well deserved day off from dropping fly balls in left today. :D
