Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

Also seems to be paying off in All-Star votes.

Morneau passed Texiera at 1B in this weeks updated balloting.

Biggest attendance so far .. 102% of capacity ... for KC??? That new stadium thing is really working out.
I don't see the attendance dropping much for as long as they keep this core group of players together. The place is a goldmine.

Guys on 2nd and 3rd, 1 out. Deep fly?

DP, no run. Way to go Punto/Span! Nice baserunning.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

I am sorry but you cant blame Punto for that it was totally Span's fault.

Not a lot of help from the moron coaching third.

Brent: While Punto should have been running hard I don't think he gets to the plate before CFer gets the ball to 2nd. And, "Twins baseball" only requires one to run hard to first. ;)

Punto shoulda ran his arse home! He coulda scored by the time Span got doubled off.

No he couldnt have. Even Bert and Dick said it was Span's fault.

edit: Scott Baker is mediocre.

And I'm saying Span was stupid to do what he did, and Punto was stupid for not running hard. I'm not your typical Punto hater, like many on here, btw.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

I dont care if you are or not once Punto saw Span round third and not tag up on third headed back to second (meaning he was dead) he knew the play was over. Smalley, Bert and Dick discussed it for like 3 minutes and all of them agreed.

The mistake was Span's, if he is even half paying attention (or if Ullger didn't make it so Punto had to play 3rd base coach which was ridiculous in its own right) Punto scores doing cartwheels.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

It probably shocked the hell out Punto when Span almost passed him at third.

Do you think it woke Scotty up from his nap?

BTW Baker is so mediocre I think Crain is outpitching him...time for his "elbow" to get inflamed and spend some quality time on the DL.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

What's Thome's role on this team? Being DH every once in awhile and pinch hitting that doesn't really seem to add anything...

And when will they cut ties with Crain and Harris?

If Tolbert and Valencia are signs of what's coming up, this will not be a good team.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

Valencia is a year away at least, he wouldnt even be sniffing the bigs if there weren't injuries. Tolbert will never be an everyday player for the Twins.

I believe Crain is a free agent, so you wont have to worry about him much longer...
