Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

Absolutely, and the bullpen really needs to improve. Duensing, Guerrier, and Burnett are pretty solid. Crain, Mahay and Mijares are bad. The jury's still out on Rauch. I'm not sold on him as a closer.

Giving up five runs in the 9th against anybody is bad and giving up five runs in the 9th to the Brewers is unacceptable. Let's see what Gardenhire, Rick Anderson and Rick Stelmaszek can do.

I'm tired of winning the Central and being a whipping boy for the Yankees. They have the attitude, that anything less than a World Series championship is a waste. If the Twins are going to take that step up to the Yankees level, they need to be dominating these games against a crappy NL team, not just squeaking by in extra innings thanks to a team that doesn't have a closer giving up the tying run in the bottom of the 9th, in a game where they had the a good lead the entire game. The Pohlads have invested more money than ever before, it's time to take that next step.

Didn't we win 15-3 last night?

And we won today, right? And the Yanks just lost to the Mess tonight, too. Right?

Big picture. Look at the forest, not the tree.

I'm not saying were doomed or the sky is falling. All I'm saying is those pitchers really need to step up or step out(Especially Crain) because this can't be a trend. Today's win is like beating the Lions by a field goal in overtime.

The Twins are my favorite AL team by a mile...but it's not like they went out and signed Sabathia, Burnett and Texeira in the same offseason. I mean, that's not even realistic for a team to do. Oh, wait...

But as they always say in baseball: every team wins 1/3 of its games and loses 1/3 of its games, but the good ones find a way to win most of those in the middle 1/3. Consider today one of those :)

Today was just about to go the other way, yes a cheap win is better than a loss, but that will run out somewhere, sometime.

Signing Mauer to a big contract is a big step for the cheapskates in this state.

Oh, I know...just saying that it's tough to lament losing to the Yankees when, unfortunately, they are always able to put themselves in a position where they should be winning in the postseason.

I'd love nothing more than to see the Twins represent the AL in the Series, but in a realistic sense the Yankees likely are always going to be the better team overall (as things are currently structured).

And I know how things work in "this state". I probably live about four miles from you :p

They think that way, so why shouldn't Twins fans think that way?

Says the person from the state who *s roadkill, and/or eats it

Boil first to remove bitterness. Sort of like rock tripe, most lichens and lily pad root.
