Ugh! I had him in my lineup last weekend....and I'm still in second place! Thanks for the info!!Probably a dumb question and something I should have researched, but I have a question for Tech fans. What's the deal with Jordan Baker? I see he hasn't played any games this year....? He is on my fantasy team. I didn't realize he wasn't playing

Yeah, 6 husky wins, can't happen, Connecticut doesn't play this weekend.Maybe she expects 6 husky wins this weekend. That would be kind of awesome.
Absolutely correct.Well our power play is horrific, as is our penalty kill, so that could be quite likely this weekend.
That's what we hear every year.I'm cautiously optimistic this team we have is pretty decent. They're young, scrappy, and will only grow and get better every weekend. I could see a sweep either way, hopefully for the purple, but I'm thinking split.
Though it vastly improved in the second half of last season (about 83% in the final 16 or so games), my faith in our PK was still pretty badly shaken. Three games into the year and sitting at a very modest 80%, I'm not at all sold on it yet. If the penalty box gets crowded, this could be Mankato's weekend to improve their powerplay numbers.
Also, I have little doubt that our powerplay will struggle in its first WCHA action this weekend. NMU's penalty kill was horrid, letting our guys get right in front of the net for rebounds, etc. Not that I'm complaining, but I don't expect that to continue.
The big thing with the PK is that the other team has only had 10 chances in 3 games so you can't really have anything much better than 80%. I mean 90 or 100 would be nice but in 10 chances, this early in the season its pretty unlikely. There are 24 teams ranked higher than MTU on the PK right now and 8 of them have had more chances. We're all hoping MTU can get the PK into the high 80s but even if they can't, it will also help to keep the number of opportunities to 4 or fewer per game. That will make a big difference. Over the course of last season our opponents had 195 PP chances, vs our 159...that's a huge difference that needs to change as much as the PP & PK percentages.
That's what we hear every year.
Ex-Wildcat Willy Wannabe said:Given that Tech's success has happened against just Michigan teams, it's understandable if the Huskies are flying under the radar a bit, but it appears that MSU is at the wrong airport
According to their press release: "Jamie Ram (Michigan Tech '89) is in his eighth year at the MTU helm and has forged a 68-165-33 mark with the Bulldogs."
Epic fail. Even worse, they corrected it to Jamie Russell but still left Bulldogs.Dare I say, that Mankato's SID may be lazier than our own Ian Marks?

I've been outed! Egads!
No credit for the snappy references to "Coach"?![]()
Hey, it could've been worse - based on your own admissions, I could've credited "Ex-Shirtless NMU Chestpainter"
They're supposed to click through to read your attempt at being the next Dave Barry.![]()
There are few things lamer or more overdone than "Coach" references in regard to Minnesota State. It's so old that we probably now have college students who don't know what you're talking about. No credit for the snappy references to "Coach"?![]()
So is the Jamie Ram reference...Yeah, the Coach references are about a decade late.
