Minnesota @ Ohio State: 2/12 & 2/13

Re: Minnesota @ Ohio State: 2/12 & 2/13

Yes. At some point I bet everything in this niche sport of ours will be streaming to TVs, so probably have to get used it. Google Fiber we need you.

I don't mind streaming...but was hoping for FSN+ or something, so I could catch it at the local watering hole.

I just purchased a new, very "state of the art" computer with 32GB of RAM + the latest super-duper video card + a large screen HD monitor - and I have a very fast (180+ mbps download speed) internet connection - but on streams the quality varies from very good to very bad. Maybe in a few years it will become more comparable to true HD, without the dropouts, freezing and artifacts that are still so commonplace today.

I've streamed the Gopher women's games with no problem at all. Good quality, good speed (obvious lag from real-time, etc but that's expected). I have streamed a couple men's games in the past, when I had cable, and same situation (minus Alaska, but that's because of overload of Gopher fans logging on, also expected, given the school they were playing).

I won't invest in season packages until the things you mentioned are guaranteed, though, hence my problem.

Re: Minnesota @ Ohio State: 2/12 & 2/13

Imagine where the internet is today vs. dial-up not that long ago. I imagine in a similar amount of time the quality of streaming to make a similar jump in quality and reliability.

Reading the OSU thread, sounds like the only thing that they have been consistent at is inconsistent play. Sounds like another team I know. Hope the teams show up for the same game, or it could be two uneven games. (And I hope whatever happens, the Gophs show up Friday, since we can't watch them Saturday. Or does BTN2Go have the game?)

They have been very inconsistent the only constant has been goaltending. Frey has been very good most of they year although his record doesnt show it. The offense hasnt showed up for him especially early in the year. I expect a close series just like the first time they played. Any of you gopher fans coming to columbus this weekend?

Any word on a TV network picking up Saturday's game?

Minnesota Hockey: All the Gophers do is crack nuts in OT.

I think they realized if it reaches a SO they're screwed so they better win it during the 5 extra.

A hard fought, fast paced game all the way to the end by both teams for some awesome OT college hockey. Schierhorn and Frey really battled hard in net, but Schierhorn's 2 saves on Greco were unbelievable pro stops. Loved the laser cannons by Kloos and Bristedt.

Kloos, whom I just learned is the first undrafted player to wear the "C" for Minnesota since Judd Stevens in 2004-05 has really found his speed, passing and laser shot and is sure to get some hard looks from NHL scouts. His 10-12-22 over the previous 10 games is one of the hottest sticks right now in the NCAA (Motte 15-10-25 in 10 games might be tops). Let's get another for the sweep boys.

Game Winning Goal by Captain Kloos

So are BTNplus games available to watch on BTN2Go a day later, or are they always pay-per-view?

Kloos has definitely been the type of player I was expecting see this year lately, highhandedly willing goals. Wasn't there in the beginning half the season, but looks like a different player now.

Re: Minnesota @ Ohio State: 2/12 & 2/13

95% sure they are always BTN+

Make sense. There would be a lot of people happy to wait a day to save $10. Just don't think I can spring for $10 again to watch pauses and freezing, as much as I hate to miss a game, especially after a good game like last nights.

Re: Minnesota @ Ohio State: 2/12 & 2/13

Gophers sweep in a nailbiting 4-3 W! But credit OSU, they were tenacious in the third, scored two goals and made this game too close for comfort. Nice to see all three lines contributing this weekend, only two D players with points (Johnson and Glover).
