Minnesota @ Michigan St 12/9 & 12/10

Re: Minnesota @ Michigan St 12/9 & 12/10

I think MSU is better than their plus the Gophers have been Hekyll/Jekyll with the play of both their offense and in net so far this season. Gophers fans would love to see complete 2-game effort for once and from that let the results follow.

[edit] BTN reports MSU 4-2-1 their last 7 games. Puts a bit of perspective on their overall record.

That first period was so encouraging. Then tha 2nd period was the worst I've seen all year.

I think MSU is better than that but the Gophers are a very good team. I thought they looked tougher than Denver did at Munn earlier in the year.

Shout out to our penalty killers, though. They were nails tonight.

Still this news has me downgrading my prediction this weekend to a split.
Friday- MSU 4-3
Sat- Min 5-2
We can only hope your prediction for tomorrow proves to be more accurate than it was tonight. ;)

Seriously, even though the Gophers' power play couldn't take advantage, that string of penalties really hurt your chances of mounting a comeback. I'm sure Anastos will make sure his team is more disciplined tomorrow night.

Happy for the win after if felt like MSU really controlled play the first 10 minutes of the game. The Gophers were a bit fortunate in that they didn't capitalize on the PP, had 2 flukey goals and failed to put the game away despite having several chances to do so. Now it remains to be seen if they can put it together for an entire weekend.

You're up against MSU and a horrible coach. Your chances are pretty good.

Talk about getting shut down! 14 total shots and only six for the 2nd and 3rd periods combined.
Without Minny, it was a 5 or 6 goal game for the Gophers. tCHHCoMSU's most talented team eh? If this is his idea of talent...........And please don't give me any of that "It's a young Team" stuff. Other programs also have "Young Teams" and they don't seem to struggle like this. He's had 5+ seasons to get this program on the right track, and it clearly isn't. This Coach is in way over his head. If they don't win GLI, Off with his Head!

God I hate basketball.....

What? It only took like 17 minutes to play the last 2.5 minutes! And unfortunately, that IS NOT an exaggeration. (I honestly can't understand how people enjoy watching that sport.)

Hell, it took about 10 for the last 30 seconds.
And I agree, that sport holds zero appeal for me.
To each their own, I guess.

Yup. I hear ya! Need to change the rule on fouls: Inside of the last two minutes of the game, a team can only commit two fouls. If they commit more then two, Charge the bench (coach) with delay of game and make it a game DQ offense. That should put an end to the problem.

Start by giving the foul shot shooter three shots under X minutes remaining in the game. Coaches won't want to risk that extra point per foul.

Didn't get to watch the Saturday game. Was too tired to stay up and watch the DVR so I just FFed to watch the goals. Glad to see some fight after the 0-2 deficit for the Gophers on Saturday.

Wasn't necessarily pretty the whole way on Friday and I didn't get a real feel for the flow of the Saturday game, but I'll take a sweep on the road every time.

Good luck the rest of the way MSU fans, see you at Mariucci in March!

"Good Luck? The only way we will have good luck is if tCHHCoMSU is fired.
