Minnesota hosts Wisconsin: March 2-3 - MacNaughton in the house

So 3 points this weekend would make you think that this season overall is not a complete and utter failure for the Badgers? For a program with the history that WI has, its nice to see you still hold the Gophers to a higher standard, apparantly. You can finish a pathetic 9th in the conference, but beating us once or twice still means the entire season isn't a waste for you.

And you wonder why we're arrogant. ;)
Any ****ty season is immediately sweetened when you can (maybe) prevent your rival from winning hardware. I have no issue with the season being both pathetic and satisfying.

The Gopher Blue Line Club luncheon on Friday will feature the Hankinsons - Peter, Ben and Casey. I hope John and Bonnie attend as well. Have not heard if Eaves will attend, hope so as he's a fun speaker. It should be entertaining! I'm sure someone will tell the story of Casey's recruitment by the BADgers.

At Jax cafe in NE at 11:45 AM.

Eaves typically attends as many of those types of things as he can. I've heard he's always a fun speaker.

The Badgers seem to play to the level of their competition this year, so if we suck we should be good. Or something like that.

They can try but I don't think a 9th place team can handle playing up so many levels.

This sounds really similar to many Gopher fans making the point that it didn't matter how their season had gone, the fact they swept UMD in Duluth was enough for them to ALWAYS be considered the better team.

I would love for you to list the "many" Gopher fans making this claim. Sure many have probably referred to the sweep and our current standing ahead of UMD, but I doubt many made the specific claim that it didn't matter what happened the rest of the way, and the Gophers would ALWAYS be the better team due to sweeping UMD in October.

Nice try, though.

You mean that he is referring to a NC? That is a bit presumptuous, wouldn't you say?:)
I was referring to you guys getting the MacNaughton curse/weight. I don't presume, I take things one weekend/game at a time.

I do think being ahead in the standings is one fact no one can argue about us being better. They'd have an argument if they were about to take the Cup, but because they got swept and need lots of help for a sniff of the Cup clearly means we are the better team.

Re: Minnesota hosts Wisconsin: March 2-3 - MacNaughton in the house

The most impressive thing about the rodent team is the measely 52 goals against in the WCHA, that 16 better than da Dawgs, very impressive indeed.

Special teams will be the key, with the 2nd best PP against the worst PK, though UW's pk has been better the last few games. They did a great job shutting down DU a few weeks ago.

I don't agree with this necessarily, and besides that, it wasn't the argument he was trying to make in the first place. He said many of us were claiming that the Gophers were the better team solely because we swept UMD earlier this year, regardless of what happened the rest of the way. Totally ridiculous, and its no surprise he hasn't backed up his claim.

Sounds like Bjugstad should be fine. Lucia said on KFAN today that he's progressing well and will practice today. Should be good to go Friday.

On the Wisconsin side Derek Lee is expected to get back to practice today as well. He's probable this weekend, although we heard that last weekend and he couldn't go either.

Thanks Chuck. Sounds like Marshall and Larson could be ready to play this weekend too.

I refuse to make yet another MN thread about Duluth in any way, shape, or form.

To WI fans: you will lose. /Drago

Your two good players will not save you from the fact that the rest of your team sucks donkey dick.

If MN fails to lay sole claim to the MacNaughton this weekend, they should just give up and feast on soggy bagels in the locker room from here on out.

Strange, the deer are starting to get nervous on this side of the river and Menards is stocking up on paint thinner, that's right Bucky is coming to town.

How can you tell if a dead deer is getting nervous?

Very stupid comment. It adds nothing.
