Fascinating WCHA stats regarding the extraordinary first and third period play by the Gophers this season. The net scoring differential in the first period is +13 (29-16) and the third period +19 (30-11), best in the WCHA in both. UMD owns the 2nd period with a net differential of +18 (36-18). I like our chances down the stretch.

We don't need no stinkin badges. Go Gophers. The boys should be fired up on Friday. A chance to clinch 1st place. After the last few years, it is really good to see the Gophers back to playing some important games this time of year. The sr. class should be commended for there leadership this year. The leadership that they have provided to the young guys is a big reason that the team is in 1st place with two games to go. Lets take care of becky this week-end, get four points and then on to the play offs.

The season will have not been a waste if I can see some faint glimmers of hope for next year, or if we come away with 3+ points. The Badgers have played not-horribly against top tier teams this year, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I might need some brandy old fashioneds to get myself through watching these games.

So you are still holding out hope for your squad to win the cup I take it? Interesting. One of your fans who is famous on GPL has already conceded the cup to the Gophers and is telling us to enjoy the curse. Hmmmmm....

So 3 points this weekend would make you think that this season overall is not a complete and utter failure for the Badgers? For a program with the history that WI has, its nice to see you still hold the Gophers to a higher standard, apparantly. You can finish a pathetic 9th in the conference, but beating us once or twice still means the entire season isn't a waste for you.
And you wonder why we're arrogant.
