From the numbers I just looked up, during the regular season only, UM vs UMD:
@Mariucci: 14-6-4
@DECC/Amsoil: 13-8-3

Looks like it's a bit closer than UMD has been to NoDak, but not a lot.

That's what I'm coming up with as well.

12 series at Mariucci in that time:
8 Gophers better than split
2 splits
2 Bulldogs better than split

At least in that timeframe Sandlin is steering the right direction for UMD, both of those 2 series were under him (wins both Friday and Saturday).

Before those 2 wins in October 03, Gophers were 7-0-1. Since then things have been a lot closer, Gophers slight edge 6-7-3 (4 series wins, UMD 2, 2 splits).

That is what I figured. Since I became a fan (2006) I thought that the series was close to even.

While the Gopher is a horrible creature even this UMD fan can appreciate how the name came to be. I love the names that some Universities chose for their mascots/nicknames

Duluth will probably be tougher than Corkys kids last weekend, but not by much.

This would be a good week for the Gophers to iron out the isues on the PP and PK. It'll be nice to have them firing on all cylinders later in the year when we have stiffer competition.

Minnesota sweeps. Duluth falls below 0.500.
