Minnesota High School Hockey 2012-2013

Re: Minnesota High School Hockey 2012-2013

I haven't heard that it's an annual thing, but I do know that that article is dairy accurate in what happened.
Dairy accurate?

I suppose that if has indeed been annual, it explains why my former MG HS player sources haven't gotten back to me.

fairly.***

sorry about that.

As far as I know, one kid had a girl over and a bunch of buddies were watching from the closet. No confirmation on the camera thing. I have zero reason to have any doubt from my source, FWIW.

Re: Minnesota High School Hockey 2012-2013

I got the basic story from a former MG player... there's no video. A senior player had sex with a fellow student while half the team watched through a window. I don't know about alcohol, but it looks like the narrow age difference and apparent consent means a low chance of rape charges.

Although, if the senior player knew he was being watched and the girl didn't, I could see some kind of lawsuit from that. If that wasn't the case, I wonder how this incident would even have come to light in the first place? Of course, there's also a chance the girl will forgive her "boyfriend" and just let it go. I guess we'll see.

If the girl is a minor, it's not really her choice as to whether or not she can forgive her "boyfriend", it goes to her parents. I don't know that I would be particularily forgiving if I was the parent in this instance.

Also, if they fed her alcohol and she was drunk then there can be no consent.

I'd trade a trial for 15 minutes alone with the boyfriend in a soundproof room and guarantee of me not facing any criminal charges, if I were her father....

Re: Minnesota High School Hockey 2012-2013

If the age difference was small, which seems to be the case, it really just comes down to alcohol. If they were both drinking, then I think this is summed up by saying dumbass kids doing stupid ****. Suspend them, kick them off the team, whatever. If they did actually get her drunk, and the guy was sober, then it would still be criminal, if someone wants to pursue it.

I am guessing that the father would want to pursue it.

Holy hell I'd be so ticked. I probably wouldn't look to settle it in court.

Again, I don't know about the involvement of alcohol, but I think violating the girl's expectation of privacy is worthy of ALL SORTS of punishment. That is a humiliating experience. Two games is a slap on the wrist compared to the emotional damage that girl potentially suffered.

Punishment? Definitely. But I don't know if the privacy thing is necessarily illegal. I don't know enough about the law to say one way or another. I think there would be a higher liklihood of a lawsuit on behalf of the girl than actual criminal charges.
