Minnesota High School Hockey '10-'11

Re: Minnesota High School Hockey '10-'11

So far in class A today we have games of

5-1 - and should have been worse
4-0
13-2
??

And in the grand scheme of things, A hockey gets appropriate attention (about 1/3-1/2 the crowd of AA). Consider that Bemidji (a very good AA team who just missed out on the AA tourney this year) beat three A participants in 4 games (2 vs. TRF, 1 vs. Hermantown and 1 vs. Alex) by a combined score of 23-7...

And the more I chew on this fact, I think Bemidji shouldn't have opted back up in '09...

You think they made the team that has Ralph Engelstad as an alum and plays in a rink after him play in the Mariucci conference on purpose?

I'm disappointed in Ralph that he didn't think to throw money at that problem.

Thief River Falls answers right back on a sweet pass across the front of the crease.

Re: Minnesota High School Hockey '10-'11

Thinking back, I'm sure I was that big. I didn't grow much after I got to high school and i'm 6'4" - 6'5" now. I was at least 200 lbs my entire time in high school. I think I was 190 when I played football in 7th grade.

I just now realized why New Ulm is so bad in this tournament. It's usually just a few days after Bockfest. :D

Re: Minnesota High School Hockey '10-'11

Not hockey, but i'm posting about it anyway.

My cousin is the point guard on his high school team. This is a class A team with only farm boys on it, and they are the cockiest ****ers I've seen. They play mostly AA teams and they win, but usually just barely. It is obvious that they are so cocky that they don't really try and they still win. They apparently started getting **** for dogging it all the time and decided to play hard for a game, and scored 68 points in the first half, then packed it in. I'm really curious how good they actually are or if they'll get upset in sections because they are too cocky and overlook some team.
