Minnesota Gophers Season Thread 2015-16

Re: Minnesota Gophers Season Thread 2015-16

It's not just us that gives up those last minute, heartbreaker goals. Michigan just surrendered one to Wisconsin with 27 seconds left, and that one's going to OT.

Makes for a nice showdown against Mich. next week. With all the talk of recruiting mistakes made by Eaves, Luke Kunin, who scored the equalizer isn't one of them.

Re: Minnesota Gophers Season Thread 2015-16

I see that the Michigan/Wisconsin game ended in a 4-4 tie, with the Wolverines winning the shootout to get the extra point in the standings. That leaves the Gophers with a one point lead heading into our series with them on the 25th and 26th. The Gophers have a bye next weekend, while Michigan plays host to Ferris State, on Friday only.

Hopefully the Gophers will benefit from the extra rest and gear up for a strong finish, starting against Michigan.

Oh, you're right another bye. What is that three "byes" already this season? Seems like more than usual. And hopefully not a rest and rust.;) I see Motte scored again. He's playing out of his mind this season, should be a dynamic series.

Re: Minnesota Gophers Season Thread 2015-16

Any links to highlights from last nights' game? I need my fix, especially with a bye next week.

Re: Minnesota Gophers Season Thread 2015-16

The BTN Plus file is corrupt after the first period, so even those that are paying to see highlights can't right now.

Re: Minnesota Gophers Season Thread 2015-16

somehow, Minnesota has played a tough schedule, while UND has been cupcakes. Why is that?

Sorry for that torturous schedule in the B1G, Happy. You could go to the AHL, but that would be even more brutal.

Re: Minnesota Gophers Season Thread 2015-16

This could be a very good PWR weekend for the Gophers if either St. Lawrence or Penn St. lose, both is my preference.;) The fact that the Gophers have one of the highest OW% (11th) and OOW% (8th) presents a unique advantage over other teams regarding their RPI this season.

how in the hell are you 5-10-0 ooc?!?!?!!

or 8-7-0 at home?!?!?!?!!

Re: Minnesota Gophers Season Thread 2015-16

Big series coming up with the closest thing to a rival in conference and the conference championship on the line, and no series thread yet? USCHO has really gone downhill thanks to B1G!

Re: Minnesota Gophers Season Thread 2015-16

One of the more underrated effects of the Big 10 on tRodents is the complete lack of consistency of broadcast networks & start times. Having games every Friday & Saturday night on FSN North made it a lot easier for people state/region wide to follow the team.

Correct. It was the equivalent of an NFL Sunday. Tradition, yo.

(3rd Page????)

16th in Pairwise, at least getting close.

Watched Section 7AA final other night. Other times I watched Grand Rapids I wondered if Gophs got wrong Sophmore commit, with Hain often looking better than McLaughlin. But Blake stood on on Thursday. Had nice goal where he faked out D and went in alone. Had another chance at start of 3rd where he had goalie going opposite direction and looked like he had a goal when the goalie reached back and just caught the puck with the heel of the stick (incredible save). Then Blake had a nice behind the back assist on the first of Jonah Bischoff's goals, that started the comeback. Hain looked good too (goal and assist), but McLaughlin finally looked to be playing at the level I would expect from one who commits before seeing a single high school game. Hope he can continue to develop for next few years. Need to have more of the early commits not be misses.

I assume USCHO is going downhill is because everyone younger than 40 is on twitter, or facebook, or something on their phone, as opposed to here.
