I also think Bischoff is better without the puck than Brodzinski. Best course of action is to interchange them depending on the opponent, probably.

I think equal time makes sense, but Brodzinski played both in the final four and both last weekend.

So, the Beav thread got nuked?

It was here this morning, unless I just don't see it. Strange because there was nothing bad in there...yet.

DX - You didn't nuke it did you?

Hell no. Why did they nuke it? The title was fairly benign. Did someone post something today to get it nuked?

How big is Bristedt? The Warning-Kloos-Cammy line is pretty small, that's why I ask.

As we saw with Riddle years ago, it's not necessarily the size but the attitude. Everything I have heard since he committed is Bristedt is a guy that brings a certain gritty element to the rink. He's not just a scorer. He might not be a classic gritty bruiser but a guy that will get his nose in there and mix it up.

I honestly would not be shocked if Bristedt was on the first line on Friday.

I feel that while Brodzinski brings more offensively, but Bischoff brings more defensively. (Many people seem to think Brodzinski is better from posts, but offensive skill is more obvious to people who haven't played the game or watched as much.) Thoughts?

I'd agree with you. I think Brodzinski is a bit more high risk, high reward out there. Bischoff a bit more steady and reliable. But I don't have any issues with either of them out there. I like them both and feel very good about their futures.

Thanks for the info. I don't know much about the guy and I was too lazy to pull up Bristedt's info haha. Hopefully he is as good as the hype!

Yeah, here's part of the hype...from a post of mine from July:

"Don't know where you're coming from on this...but my assumption is that you may not be aware of Mr. Bristedt's credentials. There are others here that are skeptical...so I will give a bit of background from a reputable source OTB.net:

In fact, Bristedt could actually be one of the biggest commits out of Europe yet, as he really breaks the mold – this isn’t a skater who was doing “pretty good” overseas. He’s leading Sweden’s top U20 circuit as an 18 year old (our closest equivalent would be the USHL, but most players there move right on to pro teams) with 17 goals and 15 assists in 32 games, but arguably more important: he’s been on the radar for a long time. Bristedt has been skating internationally for the Tre Kronor since 2010, and was putting up serious points back then, too. In the 2012 World U17′s, he led the entire tournament in goal-scoring (7 in 6 games), well-outperforming prospects including Jonathan Drouin (CHL MVP, 3rd 2013 NHL pick overall), Sam Reinhart (2nd 2014 NHL pick overall), Leon Draisatl (3rd 2014 NHL pick overall), and JT Compher (Big Ten's 5th leading scorer as just a freshman) - not to forget future teammate Hudson Fasching. That touches on what’s probably the biggest storyline of Bristedt’s decision to head to Minneapolis: his decision not to go pro right now.

B1G banner raising and Mike Reilly ceremony this weekend at Mariucci.

http://www.gophersports.com/sports/m-hockey/spec-rel/102114aaa.html

Friday’s series opener with the Beavers will see Minnesota unveil its 2014 Big Ten regular-season championship banner during a pre-game ceremony. The inaugural Big Ten title last year marked the Gophers’ 15th overall regular-season conference championship and third-straight -- a first for the program. Additionally, the first 1,500 fans at Friday’s game will receive a limited-edition, foil-stamped poster.

Posters will be available on the concourse at Section 2 of Mariucci Arena. Game time for Friday’s series opener is set for 8:12 p.m. The Big Ten Network will broadcast the game while 1500 ESPN and the Gopher Radio Network will also call the action.

SSM D Josh Manisalco commits to the Gophers, nice pickup!

Very athletic defenseman with a serious upside. Possesses a big time heavy shot at the blue, shoots right and should be a consistent look there down the line. He’ll crush the opposing team off the puck, with the mobility and timing to make an impact when he lines it up. Started off the season at 5’11, 163 last year, now listed at 6’0, 189, and absolutely no fun to be on the ice against in any zone. As far as a long-term projection goes, we think he compares favorably to key Gopher recruit Ryan Lindgren (1998), who is with the NTDP this season. - See more at: http://overtheboards.net/select-70-uncommitted-prospects-ranking-october-2014/#sthash.rA6Cz4rm.dpuf

Does anyone keep a running list of all Gopher commitments, either by birth year or when they are expected to join the roster?

There is this very special place called Gopher Puck Live that you should visit some time....
