Minnesota Gophers 2024-25

You guys had that ridiculous run from 11-12 to 15-16, 4 natties and the top loser trophy one year. That did end 9 years ago. Don't y'all think UW's burner run will extinguish at some point? TWSNBN came back to earth this last season. Once KK and Simms are gone after this upcoming year, that superstar core will be too thinned out to sustain it.

I absolutely do think Wisconsin won't be that good forever. O'Brien leaving means they probably won't be damn near unbeatable, even if they remain the best team.

I just don't trust Minnesota to step up, is all.

Something notable, not saying anything's right or wrong, just notable:

On next year's projected Minnesota roster, assuming #18 returns:
10 players from Minnesota
15 players from outside of Minnesota

Never thought I'd see the day.

15 players from outside of Minnesota
What I think is noteworthy about this over the years is where UM's go-to recruiting locations outside of Minnesota have been. Europe is definitely a change that started with the first two Finns and has picked up steam in recent years. But as far as the rest of North America goes ... Chicago and British Columbia. Just about everything else seems like an isolated event. Makes one wonder just how proactive scouting is, if proactive is a word that even applies.
