Minnesota Gophers 2022-23

It's not a personality issue, it's a chippiness issue. You can be a great player and not play like a jerk, which does lead to some dumb penalties, but I'm okay with that.
"Chippiness" can be very effective as long as the offending player doesn't cross the line. But it can often be very difficult for a player to determine just where that line is.

I really don't pay that a close of attention to how your roster is constructed; does Frosty use the portal much to bolster his team?

So, um, that means never. Interesting.

A few times over the years transfers have happened but not too many. Similar to the Sinners although the Sinners have had more high profile transfers than the Tunnelers. But neither the Sinners or the Tunnelers are at the level of using the transfer portal like what the Muzzinator is doing.

In some ways, it seems like the Tunnelers are kind of heading down the path that bc has taken, although not the departures from the team like bc, but just not getting the top level players attention, whether that be recruits or player transfers.

Most of the Minnesota transfers in over the years have been Twin Cities kids who want to return home, for whatever reason. I would guess some of those may choose St. Thomas, going forward.

The Tommies are going be an interesting team to watch in the next couple of years. With major investments in facilities, and presumably the ability to invest in players, Joel Johnson really has the opportunity to make an impact in the WCHA. This is a super exciting rivalry to watch.

The Gophers start their season playing St. Thomas at the Xcel Center in St. Paul on October 13. There will be a double header with the women playing at 4:00 followed by the mens teams playing each other. Tickets will be available to season ticket holders of both schools on August 22nd. A second game between each of the squads will be played the following day but I am not sure if that will also be at the Xcel Center. This will be the first official meeting between the mens teams.
