It has been reported that the University of Minnesota will buy out the last year of Don Lucia's contract. Who will be the new men's ice hockey coach of the Minnesota Golden Gophers?

Lindgren gone. Biggest loss of the day. CM could make it much worse.

Some names being thrown out there: Darby Hendrickson, Mike Ramsey, Robb Stauber, Grant Potulny, and Mike Guentzel (current assistant).

I doubt that Motzko, Hastings, or Sandelin would leave their respective teams for this job. Obviously it would be a large salary increase but right now that's about it.

I thank Lucia for his contribution, but it was time.

The six man unit they have lined up for next year is BRUTAL, and they still need two more this late in the game.

It's one thing to think it was time for a change. Another thing to have the 'good riddance' attitude that you imply with that statement about Lindgren being a bigger loss.

Stauber is an interesting choice.

1. Motzko
2. Guentzel
3. Stauber

There really isn’t anyone worth getting out there at this point.

If you saw the things Bonin posted on GPL, you wouldn't be at all surprised by what he is saying now that this is becoming official.
