What is with calling Brausen Bronson???
I don't know. It is one thing to not be able to pronounce names that are unfamiliar, but you can't just make up letters and put them where they aren't. If you can't read, get help and check out the online pronunciations on the roster.

And yesterday it was Dani Cam-ern-eese. Didn't notice the "i" at the end I guess.

Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Women's Hockey 2013-14 Season

Minnesota has made too many mistakes today and the goalie just hasn't been good enough.

Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Women's Hockey 2013-14 Season

Thanks Gophers for such a great season and to such a great team. Maybe didn't play their best game, Leveille didn't have her best game. But they're an amazing team, and you can't win every game. Unbelievable amount of pressure on them with one loss in last 2 seasons coming into the game.

Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Women's Hockey 2013-14 Season

Very proud of the Gophers. Fought hard all season and down to the end today. Played against a championship-caliber team today, and they were able to dig out of a two-goal hole once, but they couldn't quite do it a second time.

I'll miss the seniors. You've provided more thrills than I could ever count. I've loved watching you all.

Leveille picked a bad day to have a bad day.

Amazing run of hockey by the Gopher women. Already looking forward to UW vs UM next year.

What KTDC and ARM just said sums up my thoughts perfectly...

It's not all on her. I'm sure she'd like the 1st and 4th goals back, but her team made too many glaring turnovers, and the one that led to the 5th goal was ultimately more than they could overcome. Credit to Clarkson for making Minnesota look very human at times today.

It's not all on her.

No, of course. Didn't mean to imply it was. As I said Friday, I didn't think either she or Rigsby looked all that great, but that's as much the competition as anything. Same today.

Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Women's Hockey 2013-14 Season

Gopher Women proved they're human after all. Congrats on a great season!

Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Women's Hockey 2013-14 Season

Yes that 5th goal was the nail but I thought another big key to the game was when the Gophers didn't do anything with two successive power plays at the end of the second period.

What a game. So unfortunate to lose to Clarkson.

Gophs just didn't play like a team today. This should have been a 6-1 game. It's kinda hard to figure out. Too many long passes, too much collapsing in the d zone, and the goaltending. Let's just say she'll have something to prove at this time next year.

Yes. Maybe that would have jump started them a bit for the third.

I agree. As the 2nd period moved along, I thought they slowly lost the advantage they seemed to have. Needed to get out of the 2nd ahead, and Clarkson prevented that.

Yeah, seems to me that CU's aggressive forecheck had a lot to do with this.

Very impressed with it.

Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Women's Hockey 2013-14 Season

I just can't believe they gave up 5 goals. It last happened on 3/5/11 to Wisconsin in overtime. Unreal!

Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Women's Hockey 2013-14 Season

First off, Clarkson played really well today and deserved to win. That was the number one reason the Gophers lost today.

We did have some issues, though. The defensemen behind Ramsey and Gillanders struggled a lot. McMillen took some bad shots right into a Clarkson player that got turned around in transition quickly. Their gap control was shaky all game long, allowing Clarkson to get into the zone much to easily. And Clarkson's third goal came after Garzone tried to dump the puck softly out of the zone when she should have just driven it down the ice; the penalty kill was never able to recover from that.

Our power play never really got going even though it scored once. And the key was the stretch from two minutes left in the first through the first two minutes of the second when Clarkson scored three times. On the first the Gophers lost a face-off, then lost control of the Clarkson forwards, followed by Leveille not being able to control the puck in the crease. Then they scored on a delayed penalty on a goal that I really thought shouldn't have counted because there was a player in the crease. And then Clarkson scored on that power play to open the second.

When we tied it back up at three I thought we were in really good shape. It just didn't work out.

It was a hell of a fun season.
