Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Women's Hockey 2013-14 Season
I don't see where one can access historical USA Today hockey polls, but it may not matter. The Gopher men have been NCAA champions a total of five times, but just twice since hockey became a D1 sport for women. In those two years they were never the unanimous No. 1 pick in the last USCHO poll of that season or the first USCHO poll to start the following season:
2001/02
Final USCHO Poll (3/18/02) – ranked 3rd
First USCHO poll (9/30/02) to start the 2002/03 season – ranked 1st but not unanimous
2002/03
Final USCHO Poll (3/25/03) – ranked 4th
First USCHO Poll (9/29/03) to start the 2003/04 season – ranked 1st but not unanimous
Me neither, but my guess is that there is NOT another case out there!
The problem is finding a unanimous No. 1 on the men's side, something that doesn't happen all that often..

Still, my guess is that there is another case out there, but I'm not going to spend any more time hunting for it right now.
