I would think that Wisconsin got 100% of the first place votes in the final poll the year the Badgers won the NCAA for both men and women (2006).Gopher women and mens' teams are each ranked No. 1 in the USCHO and USA Today polls, and in addition each is now capturing 100% of the vote. I know, these "human polls" don't mean much, if anything - particularly at this stage of the season - but I was wondering if this might be a first since the women's game was recognized as a NCAA sport. If it's not an all-time first, it has to be an extremely rare and fleeting event.

Just a quick note on a Gopher recruit. Kelly Pannek of BSM was named Ms. Soccer for this season. As captain, she will lead the Red Knights into the State Championship game against Blake on Thursday as the Red Knights try to defend their title.
The problem is finding a unanimous No. 1 on the men's side, something that doesn't happen all that often. For example, the Minnesota men couldn't get those last pesky votes back in November of 2004:So unless someone can cite another instance I'll go out on a limb and proclaim that the current Gopher teams are the first to accomplish being the unanimous No. 1 picks in both polls at the same time.![]()

Still, my guess is that there is another case out there, but I'm not going to spend any more time hunting for it right now. I know that there would be in the other poll, because they do have a season-ending poll every season.November 29, 2004

I stand corrected; there were some dreamersThe women were no problem that year, as I think they were unanimous picks every week ...

the only one that matters, because they do have a season-ending poll every season.
Ms. Hockey candidate selections may be a ways off...but I'm compelled to inquire, has there ever been a Ms. Soccer on the GWH roster before?
There will be.![]()
If I have this wrong than I apologize, but I believe you are the spelling, grammar, and word usage nazi so it seems only fair to point out that you must have missed the fact that the first part of your post was mentioned a few pages back. Easy enough to do for sure, but for someone that is such a stickler for details this is indeed surprising.
