Trip to Duluth...perfect timing for a RotW performance. Nice job!

Three series, three different award winners, a different award after each series....showing this team's depth early in the season.

2013-14 Gopher WCHA Weekly Award Winners
Oct. 9: Rachael Bona, Offensive Player of the Week
Oct. 16: Amanda Leveille, Defensive Player of the Week
Oct. 23: Dani Cameranesi, Rookie of the Week

#6: North Stars Move to Dallas Because Not Enough People in Minnesota Care About Hockey.
actually the No Stars moved to Dallas because the owner got pizzed he was the subject of a sexual harrasment suit. The No Stars were drawing good crowds, the owner was just being a jerk, the people in the state said good riddance to him and began working on securing another team

I'm mostly just sad nobody mentioned my Boomtown Rats reference. Extremely underrated band.

Can't make the trip to Bemidji...it appears options are limited to live audio, live stats and the game blog. Kind of disappointing...and surprising to me there apparently still are no video capabilities out of that nice new facility in Bemidji. Thought I read last season at the BSU site that video would soon be available.

Game appears on the America One schedule, then there is the BSU Gameday Live schedule so...

Anyone know one way or the other on video availability out of Sanford?

Minnesota Daily - Speed line helps produce

Also an injury update noted in the article:
(Kate) Schipper was injured during (Saturday's game at Minnesota-Duluth) and didn’t practice Monday, but Frost said he expects her to play this weekend against Bemidji State.

Nice as the winning streak has been, I don't know that GWH can claim the most impressive active streak in the state. Edina girls tennis won their 17th straight state title. Now THAT is a dynasty.

I remember how big a deal it was when Trinity squash lost their first match since the Polk administration

even more impressive is that their parents have won the cocktail mixing showdown 19 years in a row

thanks, nice article about 3 nice hockey players
many players with speed mostly use it when they have the puck
it is refreshing to see a player use her speed to chase down loose pucks
even when Terry doesn't win the battle, she causes a lot of problems for the other team that often ends up with a Gopher scoring chance

No #13 tonight.

Garzone tok regular shifts on defense. Flug spotted on each of the three lines; she didn't play much but looked reasonably effective when she did.

56 game winning streak against D1 NCAA sanctioned hockey programs. Sheesh, that is simply amazing from the standpoint of consistently good play over that period of time and that they have avoided a letdown.

Saw this story...hurt a bit, but it says you value books over looks... http://www.travelandleisure.com/articles/americas-ugliest-college-campuses.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; I always thought that the championship banners and murals in Ridder look mighty fine.

Random thoughts on last night ...

Hannah Brandt was very good, even though she didn't get anything on the scoresheet to show for it.

Given we played last night with only two holdover D from last year and five new additions, the blue line continues to be very solid.

I was asked last week in Duluth why Ramsey and McMillen weren't on the Olympic centralization roster. If Ramsey can play like she did last night, then she likely should be.

Davis and Lorence are clicking very well together.

Hopefully, we start stronger today than we did last night.

How one talks about the ugliness of the campus without mentioning the West Bank mystifies me.

viewed with Cedar Square (or whatever they call those ugly towers now) in the background, the West Bank looks pretty good.
you know, kinda like a homely girl standing next to an absolutely hideous looking one

now that they've replaced that ugly & dysfunctional science building with the new science teaching & student services building, redone Washington Ave (OK, its not complete) and if you put a giant canvas over the Moos Tower and adjacent med buildings, the campus could actually be considered nice looking.
