Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Women's Hockey 2012-2013
Are either of the Wisconsin games on BTN?

Not live, and I don't see any indication that they're going to be taped and played later. Are either of the Wisconsin games on BTN?

Replay of all 14 Gopher goals from last weekend (no audio, though). http://www.gophersports.com/allaccess/?media=363341t.

The merits of a well executed one timer and the quick release. A couple additional things accomplished with greater proficiency thus far.Two things.
I get the fact that these games were vs MSU although I've previously seen Butters be quite solid. And I get the fact that UM is a very talent laden team.
But in addition to that, what this video shows me is that when they shoot they shoot like they mean it...maximum effort put into the shot...complete execution. They aren't contemplating taking any prisoners...nor should they. At least two of those goals were the result of the shot being too hot for Butters to handle...she got a piece of each shot but the puck ended up gaining altitude, going over her and landing in the old onion bag. That wouldn't happen with tentative shots.
As well, although a bit more difficult to determine conclusively especially in a highlight video, it sure seemed to me that there was also some serious synergy happening...that elusive extra dimension...the seventh man.
Sold out? Where does Bucky play?
Ridder's capacity is only 3,400, so it's not that much bigger. I'm looking forward to seeing what a sold-out LaBahn looks like.LaBahn Arena, capacity 2,273.
It just opened this year, but UW really went cheap and cut the capacity in half from the original plans of a Ridder-sized facility.

Was this purpose built just for the Badger women?
Yeah, while its officially built for the women's hockey program, the only reason it is actually there to give the Badger Men their own practice space. If the men hadn't been struggling for ice time, there is no way it would have been built.
From the sound of it, Mens hockey basically doesn't practice at Kohl at all anymore. Earlier this year, Mike Eaves was complaining about the difference in ice size, and having to play games on the big ice of Kohl after not having practiced on it since preseason.
That's too bad. National champs playing Wisco, streak on the line, two Big Ten teams, and no tv?
How about FSN? Are they showing a couple of Gopher games this year?
