Minnesota @ Bemidji State: 10/18-10/19

I could not tell from replays, did Warning's shot over Walsh's shoulder deflect off a D, or did he just mis-hit it and knuckleballed it? When it first happened, I I was baffled when he took the shot, and it seemed like a couple seconds before you saw it go in the back of the net. And while in the replay, I saw it lob into the air and therefore why it took so long to get there, I never caught why it went up like that.

I think a defender got his stick on Warning's stick as he went to one-time it, not positive though.

I realize almost no one will read this, but....I finally got to GPL to read the BSU series thread. (I don't post there because I got blocked at work on USCHO and don't want the same on GPL.) I just wanted to clarify....people were arguing about the penalty in the first game where Warning tripped Walsh behind the net, and Lucia was arguing loudly to the ref. A few posters were arguing that they agreed with Don it shouldn't have been a penalty, but I am 99% sure that wasn't Don's problem with the cal. It was that the puck went past a MN player without him ever touching it and the ref blew the whistle. If they had waited until a BSU player skated down to the corner to force the Gopher to touch it, the first penalty would have expired. Instead, they blew the puck before MN had control, giving BSU a 5 on 3 for 13 sec, which they scored on just after the first penalty had expired, but before the Gopher could get to the play. So they essentially scored on a 5 on 3 that never should have occurred.

Don't know if any of the posters from GPL will read this, but at least I did what I could. And I agree with those that said that that play will be called a penalty almost every time. The timing of the whistle was the mistake the refs made.

I wasn't a part of that discussion, but I did read the discussion and this makes a lot of sense. Thanks Koho.

Couple of thoughts from the roadtrip:

-Owner of Toasty Beaver's personally gave us a ride to the game on Friday night because there was not enough interest in firing up the bus. Thumbs up on that!! He also set us up with his bouncer to give us a ride back to the hotel but we ended up calling it quits before bar close(rough night for this guy lol) and ended up taking a cab.
-Keg n Cork shuttle on Saturday was good. They were completely understaffed, but the food was pretty good.
-We had no trouble finding cabs, but we weren't out until 2am either night so I can't speak for that time of the night.
-Ticketmaster messed up our Saturday night tickets. Long story short, my brother was told tickets would be at will call under his name and they weren't. Guy at the ticket office just handed us three tickets after he didn't have any under our name and when we explained what happened. They were two rows behind the bench and a little hard to see but hell of a lot better than being SOL and going back to the bar to watch. Thumbs up on that as well!!
