Minnesota @ Alaska Anchorage: 11/9-11/10

Re: Minnesota @ Alaska Anchorage: 11/9-11/10

No worries. Turns out the feed ended up being about 8-9 minutes behind last night anyways. So I just followed the GPL Tweeter feed for updates.
The feed was fine until the end of the 2nd period. Then it started falling behind during the 2nd intermission.

Re: Minnesota @ Alaska Anchorage: 11/9-11/10

Since the Gophers were trapping last night, I find this statement of yours quite comical. ;)
Yeah ... right after the first goal it was trap city until the score was 3 nothing. The Seawolves have never been good at breaking through the neutral ice when a team traps them. The way to avoid getting NZ trapped is to score first.

They were trapping again with just a few minutes to go in the game ... like they wanted to be assured to give their goalie the shut out.

It's nice that the Seawolves Thunder are using real drums now in addition to inverted trashcans. No, seriously, it is a nice touch. That is until we get the UAA band involved with our games. :D

Re: Minnesota @ Alaska Anchorage: 11/9-11/10

The vibe and presentation at Sullivan arena is terrible. It feels like 1985 in there. I can't wait to get back to 2012 in the Twin Cities.

They've started playing dubstep during pregame warmups. How's 2012 looking now?

Re: Minnesota @ Alaska Anchorage: 11/9-11/10

It's not much but we are 20% cooler with the dubstep.

To be fair he wasn't talking about your arena, he was talking about your crowd. That sucks.

I mean Mariucci is a wonderful arena.... its just a tomb

Yeah, one of the best teams in the country is in town and we have full sections of seats that are empty.

To make matters worse, the XC running team was accepting donations for the Joplin Missouri Tornado. The contents inside the donation jug reflected the size of the crowd.

Re: Minnesota @ Alaska Anchorage: 11/9-11/10

All tied up at 1 at the end of one, with both teams scoring on the power play. UAA is playing better tonight.

They are. My stream crapped out after the first (I am blaming the comp). So it's radio for me for the rest of the game, and having to adjust for the homerism. And dealing with the occasional static from the thunderstorm. On Nov 10. Yeah.

Re: Minnesota @ Alaska Anchorage: 11/9-11/10

Feed sucks yet again. Guess they haven't figured out the internet in Alaska yet.

Re: Minnesota @ Alaska Anchorage: 11/9-11/10

It's crapped out here as well. From the beginning of the 2nd I've had the near continuous "buffering" junk. It's pathetic if they can serve four or five hundred viewers and it's just overloaded. If that isn't it then it's probably some stupidity from GCI.

To be fair, MN fans once overloaded FSN's phonelines when someone messed up and flipped the wrong switch, and started showing a WI-tUMD game instead on the MN game. IIRC, the employee was fired because of all the calls/feedback. We are a rabid bunch.

I doubt UAA's feed draws half the crowd usually.

Re: Minnesota @ Alaska Anchorage: 11/9-11/10

I know a guy who says he's an ops supervisor at GCI on this shift. Had drinks with him many times. Never thought he was particularly sharp. So I'm always ready to blame them.

Re: Minnesota @ Alaska Anchorage: 11/9-11/10

The online video on the UAA website quit working for me in the 2nd period too. It came back, but I had already switched to radio and the video was to far behind. I will try again in the 3rd period.
