Thought Michigan had them more than once in OT, but it was not meant to be. Knapp stood on his head, caught a bit of a break by the early whistle, and then totally stood on his head.

Geez...i knew i was going to see bitter UM fans, but this just makes me laugh. I expected to see UMichhockeyd-bag on here writing some dumb stuff again about how we're a MAC school, cause that totally matters when it comes to our education and everything.

And I'd like to thank at least some of the Michigan fans for keeping it classy. For those who aren't well...you're an embarassment to your school and team. And for those UM fans who decided to chuck water bottles at our team after we scored the winning goal, you are officially the classiest people EVER! I wish my children will be just like you.

And yeah stop being bitter about the controversial goal. It wasn't controversial, he blew the whistle, the puck went in after, get over it. You owned the first OT but couldn't finish. We had what 1 shot? You guys had what 10? at least.

Get over it, and now start working on next season.

It's sad that you don't even want anyone from your conference to win the big title. No more than sad...pathetic.

Trouble is, it's only some fans (and I agree that the Gophers have their share, as well as every other team). If I didn't read any thread that had idiots in it, I wouldn't be on here at all.

I was watching in a bar in Virginia without sound at that point. I was completely surprised it was waved off and they were reviewing it. I was simply It was under Conner for sure, but not controlled. I think that the ref was out of position and couldn't see the puck. He was also responding to a pretty blatant high stick right in front of him (he hit him right on top of the fruiting helmet for goodness sake!). It also blew my mind when you compare it to the 2nd Miami goal when Pat literally slid under Hunwick's pad to score. Michigan fans have a right to complain about that call. I just don't know why they (read:some) are pished at Miami instead of the refs. We didn't make the call and most probably agree with you on it. It isn't as if that was the last chance you had to score in the period - it was the first of many great chances.

I'll say it again: congrats to Michigan on finishing the season on fire and playing a fantastic hockey game.

I'm very disappointed today of course, but I'm not crushed like I was after Notre Dame a couple years ago. This team didn't spend the entire season getting my hopes up. They basically played eight good games (including last night).

I'm hoping that maybe Miami has some karma behind them. They've had an extraordinarily emotional season and it really would be great for their program if they could finish this one off.

I'll be there in Detroit rooting for Miami. They're a great program and they do it the right way so I can respect that.

Bingo. I know how Michigan hurts right now but it is without a doubt in the best interest of the CCHA as a whole if Miami wins this tournament. Miami winning championships is good for the teams in the CCHA, even UM and MSU.

Understand. And I do understand your frustration with some of the things that went on. I was there this weekend and got verbally accosted at a bar and accused of being one of those infamous "Walmart Wolverines". I wasn't doing or saying anything, just sitting at the bar watching an NC$$ hoops game. I guess my point is, we sometimes need to have a thick skin, and we also sometimes should not try to lump ALL fanbases together. I heard the racist chant (didnt hear the Roethlisberger one), and saw the idiot (s) throw a couple of water bottles onto the ice.

Enjoy the win and good luck at Ford Field, this Michigan fan will be there rooting for Miami.

Shots were 20-6 Michigan in the first OT. And I'm not complaining about the BS should-of-been goal, but the whistle was blown AFTER the puck went in. The thing was the ref had an intent to blow the whistle BEFORE it went in. Two entirely different circumstances.

Of course I'm not lumping ALL Michigan fans with a couple of idiots actions. I did meet some really nice Michigan fans who had said regardless of the outcome of the game he was going to root for either team that won. Now that's different from what a lot of the other fans around me said. You guys beat us just two weeks ago, obviously no one was expecting us to come in there and roll over and take it.

A lot of the Michigan fans are continuously bitter about the no-goal, like it was the refs fault. He did what he was supposed to do. When he doesn't see the puck he's going to assume the puck is dead and blow his whistle. He was just standing in the wrong place to see the puck clearly.

But I think everyone was hating on the refs last night. I know every face-off just ****ed me off.

But thanks for the support, and I sure hope we can beat BC in Detroit!
