Michigan Wolverines 2016-2017 Season

Re: Michigan Wolverines 2016-2017 Season

I mostly meant the part about the Gophers being ahead. I could see the Big Ten only getting one team in again...

Lame duck season is lame duck. And I could care less about the regular season title this year (which is rare because I value those more than I should).

The one goal should be to win the final college hockey game at Joe Louis Arena.

Re: Michigan Wolverines 2016-2017 Season

The game times for the schedule has been announced. Appears like there are a couple 5pm Saturday home games to accommodate football, too.

Re: Michigan Wolverines 2016-2017 Season

Kile and DeJong with C's and Lohan with the A. Looking good against Windsor so far. There are a lot of Freshman names I need to learn.

I'm happy that hockey season is here.

Re: Michigan Wolverines 2016-2017 Season

Hard to say how good they will be.

Can see a LOT of potential out there.

Can also see some issues that we've had in the past, too.

The one interesting position to watch- goalie. Right now, it's Zach's to lose, and he's got some serious players that just showed up.

"Accommodate"?????
The two Saturday 5:00 games are both when football is on the road, Oct. 8 @ Rutgers and Nov. 12 @ Iowa. I don't understand how having the hockey games start @ 5:00 is "Accommodating" football. If you are thinking the hockey game will end in time for the few thousand in Yost to see the kickoff on television do you REALLY think that would make a tick in the TV audience?

I'm more concerned with the Oct. 22 MTU game in Yost following a 3:30 football home game (Illinois - homecoming). Where are the hockey fans supposed to park???????

Beside that I absolutely HATE those early starts. They really screw up dinner. And don't even mention the outrageously overpriced mediocre food in the arena.

Go to the football game. Then walk to Yost. That's what we will be doing. Weird to wear hockey jerseys to a football game, though.

Also, the Football game Saturday is at 7pm.

Ain't nobody going to that Hockey game.

Cooper Marody is ineligible for fall semester.

This sucks, but considering what Red said, he played catch up from last year and got tripped up by one class. It especially hurts considering the youth and experienced depth on this team. Not going to be a vintage year by any means.

There is a ZERO percent chance that the kickoff will be at 7pm.

The Big Ten announces all their "primetime" games before the season. They do not allow for flex scheduling of night kickoffs, and there are already two scheduled for that night - Michigan State at Maryland & Ohio State at Penn State.

Illinois at Michigan continues to be listed as a 3:30pm kickoff, and will not start any later than that.

Either way, the parking for the Tech game that night will be an adventure. All things considered, I would not be shocked to hear more Tech fans for a period or two that evening.

And I'm not all that happy about it- I REALLY like it when Tech comes to town, for personal reasons. Add in Mel is well liked here- even more reason to be upset the cross timings of the events! This is a FUN hockey weekend!

I'm talking about this Saturday.

I'm very well aware of our Football schedule and all of the dates and times.

For that 10/22 game, there really ain't NOBODY going to that thing. Football will still be going on.

Yeah, okay, so just where do you suggest I park to walk back to after the hockey game?????????

Neighborhoods near Yost? We see tailgaters there all the time. Burns Park area would be good (other side of Packard).

Or down the S. Industrial area.

BTW, the hockey game this Saturday is at 5pm. So you know. You'll miss seeing the start of the football game. But it's just football, not hockey.
