Michigan Tech post season thread, hunting for hardware!

Re: Michigan Tech post season thread, hunting for hardware!

Free beer at the tailgate party for whoever gets a question in about Potulny and his minivan.
Ok, this sounds like the basis of a good urban myth... details please. (Especially if it's a Goof doing something goofy.)

Basically, if I remember correctly, SCSU fans were pizzed off because the Gophers got to skate the MacNaughton a few seasons ago, and complained that Potulny was keeping the cup in the backseat of his minivan, so that SCSU wouldn't get to skate it until a week later.

Re: Michigan Tech post season thread, hunting for hardware!

BG did much of what we expect from them when they were in Houghton. High pressure forecheck using three guys, play the lock, lots of pressure on the points on the pk, try to play the game in our end and get lot's of turnovers. It will be much more difficult than vs Huntsville.

This system is played by quite a number of teams out east, but honestly with more skill up front than BG.
I hope it'll be more difficult. BG has not played in the second half like it did in the first, and that's reflected in the win/loss record. True about the skill; we're capable of making up for a certain lack of skill it in grit and determination but don't always throw the switch.
We were seriously out-played Friday and stole one from NMU. Saturda y our play was better, and NMU sealed the win for us with a meltdown at the end of the third.

Any input on what sections most Tech fans are getting tickets???

Your hockey throwback video for this week...Michigan Tech's first ever victory in the WCHA Final Five. The 10th seeded Huskies upset MacNaughton Cup champions Colorado College to advance to Milwaukee, and then took down 5th seeded Northern Michigan in the 4vs5 play-in Thursday game on St. Patrick's Day in 1994. The clip also includes pregame interviews with then head coach Bob Mancini and all-American goaltender Jamie Ram.

Definitely don't want to risk sitting in 1 out of 10 seats that are actually sold.

Another night, more Chris Conner on TV. Might have to change the network name to National Broadcast of Conner Sports Network. Been watching him play for years, but it is still weird how any time a Tech player's name get called on the play by play it catches my attention like it's the first time it has ever happened.

I'm putting the odds of being placed at each regional as this:

Manchester: 35%
Providence: 35%
South Bend: 20%
Fargo: 10%

Fargo is so low because there is a high likelihood of 1-2 to be UND and UNO in Fargo, and Tech can't fall below the 7 spot.

Gotta beat BGSU.
