Don't encourage him.

I'd say that we already have a pretty big roster next fall. I'd be surprised if someone else came in. Even with the kolb loss.

It's hard to be too concerned about the roster size given the situation we ended up with last year. Now hopefully we won't have people quitting the team or violating team (and legal) policies, but even with just injuries, we could use a few more players waiting in the wings. If nothing else, it will push the guys who are playing to play hard and keep their spot.

Let's not get carried away..................................don't forget the separation of church and state.

Just think how much tech could save in gas with these high prices to recruit players from Marquette(2 hours) Soo (5 hours), Iron Mountain(3 hours), Escanaba(3 hours), Houghton(1 minute), Calumet(14 minutes) and South Range(7 minutes).

No more flights to western canada or long drives to the corn fields in Iowa or a flight from Houghton to Chicago to Detroit. This day in age of colleges losing funding. I believe tech can recruit all the local UP kids to spark the roster.

Heck on the way to most of them they could scout the talent in L'Anse and Baraga. To save even more on gas they could have the prospects from L'Anse and Baraga meet them at The Pines and have a chat while gassing up the recruitermobile.

How much will the schedule help Tech this year? They pick up AIC instead of the Superior Showcase (NMU and LSSU) and add a series against Minnesota State and Anchorage while dropping ones against Wisconsin and Minnesota. That swap is probably worth a couple of wins? Where else do any extra wins come from?

Put it this way if they dont beat UAA, Mankato, and AIC. You will be seeing some great games between MTU and Finlandia in the near future. I would hope for 4 wins in these 6 games.

Swap out Kattelus, Cousens and Royer for Baker, Pietilas, Kero, Fillion, and Johnstone(?) and a healthy Olson and there's another 3 or 4. If Pearson's coaching is worth 3 or 4 more, you've got the 12-14 win season I've been predicting.

and to get further ahead of ourselves... a lot of Mel's w/l record over the next five years will depend on who our next goalie recruit is. The essential part of the puzzle.

It'll help a bit. Staying conservative, I'd be happy with 10 wins. I expect Pearson will set the bar higher than that.

I'm curious, and somebody out here must know: who drives the white Corvette convertible with a "hockey" vanity plate?
Dude must be in his sixties... oddly familiar.

Self-promotion is so unattractive Mister GEEZER.

Interesting to note - Two weeks into the Leaman era at {PROVICED and they've already got their first two commits.
