Some time around '08. Just ran dry of ideas and got busy with classes/job hunt/the real world. Figured it was better to let it die with dignity than force it if it wasn't there.

The Univ can feel free to modify any of the following for their use and I'm on board with it. Your can order me a home, road and alt jersey right now. In no way shape or form do I want a "happy husky" (see U-Conn).

Just be sure to "modify" significantly. Anything resembling an existing logo will result in a lawsuit. And if we modify a logo from a hockey school, that lawsuit might include defamation based on recent hockey performance.

The Pipeline, an Edmonton hockey radio show, talked with USCHO's Dave Starman on Saturday morning. When they started talking about recent coaching moves, one of the hosts said, "We're hearing that Michigan Tech will be looking for a coach after the season."

Just another rumor, so take it for what it's worth.

You know, for being Western Canadians who keep tabs on the WHL, it seems they also devote a pretty fair chunk of their show to the NCAA, and they run ads for College Hockey, Inc to boot. I wouldn't be surprised if they had some legit sources down here, but they could also just be speculating based on our record and all the talk about fan frustration.

it was many years ago. we were agog over his hair. he had the Jimmy Johnson thing going on. well, different style, but always great. Twitch did a Totally Baseless Scoring Prediction on a truckload of propecia hitting hitting the SDC. it got a lot of buzz on the board. during Blue Line lunch tDon was talking about the game, or something, and he, I don't know, kinda paused, and said "what's this thing about my hair?" and then went on talking. awesome.

Wish list for next year:
1. a pk running at over 80%
2. A pp running at 22 % or better.
3. A goals against less than 4, in fact less than 3.0.
4. Goals for over 2.
5. no lost games due to injury. none.
6. team has a good time playing hockey.

I don't think it's too much to ask.

And you think the coaches and players don't read the boards? Of course they do.

I want to add. We have awesome fans at MTU. Absolutely awesome.

one night we were at an AF game and sat behind the bench. the guys came out like kids. they looked so happy - just plain happy - to be playing hockey. like they had been released from school and got to come out and play. and they kicked butt that night. I rarely see that look on our players faces.

I'll tell ya playing hockey is a lot of fun. If they are having fun, they are having success. It's no surprise they had that practice outside in Anchorage. it was fun.
Next year will be fun too.

I remember that post, believe it or not. Not word for word or anything, but I laughed my arse off. tDon and his hair have been an ongoing joke on here for quite a while.

If the animal rights folks weigh in we have a golden opportunity for earned media. At this point, it's worth a try.
