Re: Michigan Tech Offseason Thread I: Not Winning and the ensuing drama.

I feel Russell said before the game to leave it all on the table and head into the offseason with as positive as possible. I feel given playing the game with 9 freshman we accomplished just that.

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason Thread I: Not Winning and the ensuing drama.

coach sounded awful on the post game.

Clearly they need to recruit more Vatican assassins with tiger blood.

A great thread name Flashy. No lack of drama for sure. A very tough year. A much better effort tonight.

Bright spots this year. Stebner becoming a real good player. Brown doing well, all the freshmen especially Gubb and Furne. A number of players going to surgery next week. Goaltending progressed over the year and was pretty good by the end. Much better on the breakout than the beginning of the year.I'm hopeful for next year. I'm not going to get into the down side it's not worth it.

I'd like to go on record as stating that Tech fans are total class, and you deserve better. I truly hope for your sake, and the benefit of the WCHA, that things turn around for you.

How bad was this season?

Even Ronald gave up.

You know I'm pretty sure jamie changed for the better over the course of the year.
The old jamie I was not a fan of, but the new jamie, well he's ok.

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason Thread I: Not Winning and the ensuing drama.

Look at it this way, Tech fans--your season lasted a week longer than ours, and you were eliminated by the 1 seed, not the 11 seed! Moral victory?

Ok time to put your money where your mouth is - Predictions for next year's opening day coaching roster. My money is on Jamie, Pat and Damon behind the bench with an administrative change adding a director of hockey operations who's sole focus is the off-ice needs of the MTU hockey team. Logic behind this - If the team has money to spend, it is much better spent on additional support behind the scenes than on buyouts.

interesting! They have so many needs. They need more video capability big time.( including a scoreboard) They need better scouting and more ability to go see someone who they think might be ok. They need someone to do the scheduling so coach can concentrate on other stuff. They need better media relations.
They need a raise.

They need to start up a nursing program and an elementary education program.

With all due respect, raises aren't the fix for five years of 47-122-22. Performance incentives maybe, but not raises.
