Re: Michigan Tech Offseason III: Screw It, Somebody Look Up The Cheat Codes

Lets hope not, we haven't won in St. Cloud since boy bands were popular.

Sadly, they're still popular. They've just taken on new forms like, for instance, The Jonas Brothers.

*pukes*

I guess that means no hope for us in St. Cloud in the near future. :(

I never have had to listen to anything from them, so as far as I'm concerned the don't exist.:p

Capitals Development Camp photos can be found here: http://picasaweb.google.com/Mike.Misiaszek/CapsDevCamp7122009#

So here's my theory, somehow Jamie either royally screwed over somebody in the capitals organization, or he's a mad genius working a plan that none of us know about.

How does anybody in Washington even know where Tech is, let alone manage to have I'm sure I saw atleast three Tech players and Hauswirth in pictures.

Is this like a show up and we will let you play type of camp.

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason III: Screw It, Somebody Look Up The Cheat Codes

Perhaps all of these players have the same "family advisor" -- and he has a colleague who scouts for the Caps?

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason III: Screw It, Somebody Look Up The Cheat Codes

maybe they've gone to DC to learn to score goals like Ovechkin.

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason III: Screw It, Somebody Look Up The Cheat Codes

Yeah, I have one. For games, I think I've worn it once. And that was when Tech was at SCSU
I could've sworn you wore one at the F5 in '08.

(Nearby fan noticed it and asked about it, and I said it was basically a pity ****)

Possibly, I don't remember.

Here's one DC resident who knows. :)

Capitals GM George McPhee played at Bowling Green when Tech was in the CCHA. Besides, it's the job of NHL scouts to know a little bit about every program... even Tech! :p

I'm pretty sure attendees have to be invited

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason III: Screw It, Somebody Look Up The Cheat Codes

you mean beat them four times, right?

If recent history is any indicator, no.

Our last sweep over SCSU was at home, 1/15~1/16, 1999. In fact, we also swept them in St. Cloud earlier that season, 11/13~11/14, 1998, marking our last wins against that program in the NHC.

This decade, our record against them is something like 2-26-2. If you want to sit there and tell me, "we're due", that's fine. I'll stick with history for now, which tells me we'll rack up another four losses.

Doriott, Kattelus, and Cousens all show up in those photos at some point.

The way I understand it, it's a, "show up and try to impress our AHL coaches" type of deal.

As for awareness, George McPhee, the Caps GM, is a former BGSU player. McPhee and the Devils' GM Lou Lamoriello are probably the biggest advocates the NHL has for the college game and its available talent pool.

Drywalling has started in the MacInnes.

...and that video makes me sad... :(

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason III: Screw It, Somebody Look Up The Cheat Codes

Apparently we're one of the best teams in tWCHA at getting guys into pro jobs without even playing a minute in college

I wouldn't say that St. Cloud can already count on 8 points (though, Lord knows our guys probably will... we've got a bad rep for not showing up for some games against not stellar opponents), its the WCHA, anybody can win any game, but yeah... manure's calling for a sweep against a team that's had so much success against you guys of late.... that's not exactly realistic.

HEY! I recognize that left elbow!

I'd say you can more or less count on 6 of 8. Tech might earn 2, if they decide to actually show up for all three periods in a given game, or manage a couple of ties.

I have yet to witness a game against St. Cloud in which Tech doesn't just give up for a whole period or even two. Usually they come out groggy in the first, rack up some dumba55 penalties, and SCSU just smothers them.

Then, there was one game a couple years ago where they actually showed up for the first and either whiffed/missed all their good chances to score, or got stoned by Weslosky. A sophomore benchwarmer (Peckskamp) scored his first career goal in the dying seconds of the period and Tech just gave up.
