Re: Michigan Tech Offseason II: We Won as Much Hardware as Ovechkin!!

Is it wrong that I am very, maybe overly optimistic about this rookie class(especially with the addition of the big swede centerman) or is it that I am just getting the itch for the season to start :)

Double Digit wins!!! You guys should start designing a banner to recognize this possible accomplishment given you'll never even win GLI again.

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason II: We Won as Much Hardware as Ovechkin!!

Word is that they were recruting three swedes including Holmberg but the other 2 ended up in the Elite League giving up college eligibility. I believe the other 2 players were pretty high draft picks in 2010 as well...oh well, hopefully Holmberg enjoys Tech, has some success and we can start a pipeline. I would think the European trip every four years would really help with this since player's families would have the opportunity at some point to watch their son play over there?

Wrong. One of these years, the planets will miraculously align. ;)

Also, SG has mentioned something I've felt since it was announced. I believe that the European tour is all about increasing our presence over there, and getting our foot in the door of the next big, relatively untapped college recruiting bed.

Its also about offering the american/canadian kids and opportunity to do something most other programs aren't doing. I mean, who wouldn't want to take a trip to europe with your teammates, paid for by someone else? Not to mention the extra practice time leading up to this season. Hopefully that will help the guys come out firing on all cylinders.

Both ;)

Even before Holmberg was announced, I think there were/are some pretty good reasons to be optimistic about this year's incoming freshmen class, but I know better than to get too excited in mid-July.

I like the looks of our potential Top 6 forwards quite a bit, but we can't be losing any of them to suspensions/significant injuries again, or else it'll be another long year.

If nothing else, I gotta believe that a healthy, senior version of Jordan Baker is ready to make up for his struggles last season. :)

Flashy, re: Your Rep - Actually, there are 19. I overlooked Johnstone, and Elite Prospects still lists Soley on our roster.

Speaking of our new foreigner, did everyone else overlook the fact that our current foreigner is no longer ours? I heard a rumor that he's playing D3 or something of that sort elsewhere in the midwest.

Thanks for noticing. With 19 forwards on the roster, I suspected there may be a cut/mutual transfer that we just hadn't heard about yet, and Peter Rohn was, in fact, my guess.

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason II: We Won as Much Hardware as Ovechkin!!

I just realized something

Note to North Dakota - a D3 player scored on you, and I have the puck to prove it. ;)

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason II: We Won as Much Hardware as Ovechkin!!

I find it absolutely asinine that a college that touts itself as one of the most technologically advanced in the country can't seem to keep an e-mail server running.

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason II: We Won as Much Hardware as Ovechkin!!

Anytime Tech scores against UND, a D3 player scored on the Sioux.

Somehow, I knew you'd be all over this right away. I expected nothing less from Dirty. :)

Twitch - it's hilarious, isn't it? :D

Then again, the folks at MTU Telcom were never the sharpest knives in the drawer.

I bet they don't have this problem in Ann Arbor.

Just sayin'.

ETA: Actually, I just read that the company who runs our e-mail servers is based out of Ann Arbor
