Re: Michigan Tech Offseason II: We Won as Much Hardware as Ovechkin!!

Good news in the Clark Cup finals. Green Bay looked down and out headed to Fargo, then won Game 3 in a triple OT affair with our recruit Ryan Furne scoring the game winner (he also tallied an assist earlier). Then the Gamblers won Game 4 by a score of 5-3 in which Furne had another assist. So the series now shifts back to Green Bay for a decisive Game 5.

Also, forgot that Furne was playing on a line with eNeMa U commit Reed Seckel. Should be fun times. :D

8,487 in attendance for a junior hockey game? I didn't even know the Resch Center was that big.

Good for Furne, McCadden, and the rest of the Gamblers though. :)
I heard from people that I work with in that area that the Gamblers have $1 beer nights at their games. You can imagine what kind of a draw that is in the heart of paint thinner nation.

Based on what series are still unknown, I've made some assumptions based on what fits. UW/Tech would logically NOT have both series in a row, so one will be 10/29-30 and the other one will be 1/28-29 or 2/04-05. UAA and Tech only share two open weekends and with the assumption above, and it makes no sense to fill in a spot that would give us 9 weekends of hockey in a row, so 11/05-06 must be it. This would complete our schedule.

Yager deserves rep for putting that together, but I can't rep him at the moment. Ah well, he's maxed anyway. :p

You're UAA assumption was wrong...MTU will be playing UAA in February. oh well, amazing job with everything else!

Thanks. The College Hockey Showcase is really screwing me up now. I am thinking that, at the very least, Wisconsin isn't going to be in it, which opens up another possible Tech/Sconie date, so I've changed the schedule again, make sure to look at it again. Might have to hit the refresh button to get the latest version.

Closed Circuit to crazypotatoes:

As you hinted at in the Cafe, I'd be more than happy to crash on your floor for the MN/MTU series, as well as MNS and maybe BPH.

You would be rewarded with some brew. I know in the past, most have requested a brew you can't get in the UP but rather a brew you can only get in the Twin Cities area, but it's up to you.

Either way, I think we're going with our usual plan of heading up on Thu, and leaving Sun.

I know it's far out, but with a series like this, which is always awesome, ya gotta plan ahead. :)

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason II: We Won as Much Hardware as Ovechkin!!

Tanner Kero was named to the NAHL All-Rookie team and was named Rookie of the Year.

We missed Tech's blurb last week. Also, the DMG article from yesterday.

Russell and K.D. Warvie confirm he will play in the USHL next year, most likely for Sioux City or Green Bay. Warvie's article mentions he skated with some Tech players last summer, in addition to attending NAHL and USHL camps, and he credits all three for the season he had with the Rangers. If nothing else, I'm already liking his work ethic - sounds like he knows what areas he has to improve in.
