Well I have a few days to figure out how we will solve that problem. I'm sure a solution will present itself and I have a few ideas in mind. But for now, happy Friday. Three weeks from now, it all begins again...

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, this is Captain Pietila sitting alongside First Officer Blizzard T Husky and we would like to welcome you aboard Huskies Hockey. This is flight 2014-15 and we’re planning for a smooth, injury free trip with a stop-over in Houghton for home ice playoffs and then continuing on to the WCHA Final Five in the Twin Cities.

When we've reached our cruising altitude the coaching staff will be around handing out our world famous JMSIA Nachos and some cold Keweenaw Brewing Company beverages. If we can in anyway make your flight more enjoyable or less stressful with a key win, timely power play goal, a penalty kill, etc, please refrain from pounding on the glass and simply reach up and press your Call Coach button.

Once again welcome aboard and we hope you enjoy the flight.

Love the countdown, but I must say, MTU hockey has produced some of the worst jerseys in D1 sport over the last 20 years.

I like the jerseys they've rolled out the last few years.

It think what Tech has been most guilty of related to style in the last 20 years is getting stuck in ruts. Once they went to the Husky Head in 1993 it was six seasons before they did anything even slightly different. In the early 2000s they messed around a bit but then they got stuck in another rut with dazzle everything - three colors of the exact same jersey and that lasted from 2005-2012.

The early 2000s were not awesome designs but at least they tried something new. If it sucked it didn't matter because they replaced it after a couple years. Every year something new was tried. Personally I am still waiting to see a new "mascot" crested jersey. (Seems like this gets brought up every year.) Yeah, I get the tradition of the "Huskies" crest and all, but save it for the throwback jerseys.

We need to start playing some hockey!

The traditional jerseys in the sport are the best ones...BU, Wisconsin, LSSU, et al. But the script Huskies trumps them all. I'd love to see a new mascot to replace the piano dog (quick quiz for Ryan J - what former Husky hockey player actually created the dastardly logo?). But THAT one should be the third jersey change option.

When you have the best jersey in college hockey - use it.

The Gold uni's with black name plates are awesome. Loved the GLI throwbacks last year. The new white and black are awesome as well.

Ken played for MTU 1989-93 but the logo was not worn until 1993-94.
Ken was a draft pick of the... Pittsburgh Penquins.

Ya know, I read your post and didn't know what Piano Dog was but then I scrolled down and looked at one of Johnsons' posts. Now I get it, that's funny! I seriously think that you might have something with the BURN THE WITCHES comment...

The NCAA Twitter feed is running a Greatest Frozen Four team contest pitting past NCAA winners in a bracket style contest.
LSSU '94 was eliminated yesterday, but today is the '91 NMU team versus the '84 BGSU team.

In the interest of UP Power, would the fellow Huskies vote for NMU in this silly fan vote if the NMU fans *mumbling* voted for Tech in their rounds?

Sort of like the Tarkki/Conner Hobey Baker voting from almost a decade ago? :)
