we will know the name when the tPearson wants us to know the name and not one minute before. anybody know when and where this announcement will be? I'll be traveling Monday, so please keep me updated. I'm having a heart monitor implanted. see? this is what being a Tech fan does for you.

I would have to believe that Monday's announcement included:
1. FTB&G, MTU's immediate membership in the B1G with an unlimited budget for the hockey program and a few select recruits like Matt Carle, Paul Stastny, etc.
2. huskyfan, The shift of the earth's axis so Houghton would no longer be a 6 hour bus ride from anywhere

It's a fairly short story. Back in '07, the Pioneers went up to Houghton for the Winter Carnival series, and got beat in a close game the first night. A few Tech fans happened to be in the lobby of the Franklin Square Inn where all visiting teams stay, saw ice cream sundaes being wheeled onto a elevator, and were told they were for the DU hockey team. It was also alleged through the grapevine that a Denver player had punched a hole through the wall of his room. Both were harped on heavily by the band the next night, particularly when Mannino gave up a couple of soft goals in the first 30 minutes, and got pulled.

Do we need someone coming to Houghton, who had a history of looking out for his own self-interests which ultimately led to breaking up an entire hockey conference---(shaking head) I DON"T (sic) think so....

I would rather see Tech play D-III before reaching the point that we need a Denver cast-off on the staff. There are far better choices out there...

Agree completely. We don't need that kind of scum associated with Tech hockey. He can find another low class organization like DU to coach at.

That's a very good hire, if true. He coached Ryan Miller and Cam Ellsworth in juniors. Wonder if that means Dieter Kochan is once again out as volunteer goalie coach.
