Red Wing bloggers not complementary of David Johnstone.
Said they were waiting to see his crazy good hands, but it did not materialize.
Also said he had a lot of speed, but overmatched by the pro game.

Don't listen, put up 50 points this year and there will be plenty of interest.

Hyperbolic bloggers are hyperbolic bloggers. He's a good, solid all-around prospect that will need to spend time in the minors to learn the pro game, which can be said each year for just about any decent undrafted NCAA player. I wouldn't use "crazy good" to describe any aspect of his skills or play.

I honestly can't get any more information than I've stated. I'm pretty sure the decision has been made but I have no idea who the new coach is yet. I'll post as soon as I find out.

I've exhausted many of my outside sources...they've heard less than huskyfan.

I think the reveal may be a surprise, but when Tech fans look at the big picture, they'll be quite pleased. Will fill some needs & actually be an upgrade.

Interesting...that's exactly how I would feel if Mel hired Tim Watters. While he didn't pan out as a D1 head coach, he'd be a great assistant to coach defense and bolster recruiting given his NHL ties and alumni status. I believe Mel & Tim played together at Tech (at the same time). I wonder what Mr. Watters is up to these days.

Last I checked, living in Arizona...remember Mel talked about getting an outside voice so it's not likely to be someone with a Michigan/Michigan Tech direct connection.
