Michigan Tech Offseason 2014: Nothing To Say

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason 2014: Nothing To Say

Head coach in USHL for Jamie.

If Damon Whitten gets the job at Lake State, could Steve Shields be convinced to replace him?

Cant think of one that will be opening up unless Fargo or Des Moines fires their coach. With the draft being less than 2 weeks away I find that hard to believe

Devin Kero has signed his LOI, no new insight on who is coming in though.

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason 2014: Nothing To Say

That's a good thing. The other "schedule" had the series later after LSSU had already played Robert Morris. I don't know how set past versions of the schedule were for either team, but hopefully this is both teams' first game. The less practice before the first game, the better considering that LSSU will have a new coach and maybe a new system. Of course it might resemble a high level pickup game for both sides.

Most likely the lakers will have a new system. Jim Roque was on national tv when asked what system he had his team play he replied they had no system. Unfortunately true story.

Maybe it explains LSSU's consistent fast starts and slow finishes. By December everyone with a system is comfortable with it and executing.

I think Tech starts next fall strong. Better schedule and it's year 4, so the players should know what is needed on day 1.

Rix is in the mix

Wednesday, 23 April 2014

Edinburgh Capitals have signed Dennis Rix from the Michigan Tech University. Edinburgh Capitals coach Richard Hartmann said, "I have been recommended Dennis as a player who will be equally as successful as players like Jade Portwood and Curtis Leinweber who have also played in the AJHL and NCAA. Dennis has good speed, skill and is a gritty, hard working competitor. He has put up great numbers in the AJHL which provides an indication of his offensive capabilities. Dennis is a good athlete who is strong on face-offs and works hard in both ends of the ice. He will bring a lot of energy and work rate to the team. I expect Dennis to put up good numbers for the Capitals in this League."

Dennis Rix said, "I am very excited to have the opportunity to join the Edinburgh Capitals organization, and also to have the opportunity to pursue an MBA at Herriot-Watt University. I look forward to showing up to the rink everyday and doing whatever I can to help the team win. I am looking forward to living, playing and studying in a great city."

Did we have voting for the post season awards and I just miss it? Who got what?

Here you go. Just posted today. Do they usually figure out Cs and As at a meeting like this or is that yet to come?
