I can't imagine how many people apply to something like this, that would never, ever have a shot. High school coaches, NAHL coaches, low-level D-3 coaches, washed up has-beens trying to get back in the game...

A D3 coach ends up at Umass-Lowell and coach who hasnt coached in 20 years coaches of all teams MSU Spartans.

Union has already announced that they're replacing Leaman with their top assistant.

I haven't heard anything...but it is reasonable to assume that Michigan Tech is interviewing "finalists." I would be completely satisfied if that group was Hastings, Guentzel and Eades.

If filling a head coach position is anything like filling a faculty position, 50%+ of the unsolicited applicants don't meet the minimum advertized qualifications.

Kind of like that astronaut job I posted last week in a way. The posting organization often puts qualifications they would like but are realistic enough to know most likely won't happen.
I agree these people interviewed are people she is seriously considering hiring,and bringing a companion is a good sign. I hope she brings in at least two more before she decides.
