KFAN is full of crap and thanks for pulling my leg, its not going to happen, Blais will stay in UNO and has never been here and has no intention of going to Houghton for interview anytime soon. I am coming down to reality and it sucks.

Good luck to the AD in the search.

Hopefully, Mitch and Dirk wont lose there job for a coach. Maybe Tech will get the NMU radio announcer to take both mitch and dirks positions at cheaper rate.

I wonder why Rolston would not be intrested in tech hockey. Wasnt he a captain at tech? A great leader and involved with USA hockey at an international and national level as a head coach. Plus Rolston was involved with other great programs as an assistant coach LSSU and BC. The last seven years as head coach of the US team in Ann Arbor.

Why doesnt his US18 team play MTU anymore?

I'm glad he's coming up for a visit and at least considering the opportunity. It's the right thing to do. I hope Suzanne doesn't put him up at the Dog House. ;)

Bring Mel to the Ambassador, KBC, Pizza Works Houghton, Downtowner, Dog House and The Library.

Show him what Ann Arbor doesnt have. With a full stomach he is sure to love winters in the houghton area.

Mel loving the snow and surroundings is not the issue.

He probably doesn't want to move. Additionally, Rolston is pretty much best friends with Russell, so perhaps he also wants to respect that friendship by staying out of the running for a position that his friend was more or less fired from.

On another note, if Pearson takes the Tech job, it helps widen the path for Rolston to potentially replace Berenson whenever he's ready to call it a career (though that might not be anytime soon based upon U of M's recent run and Pearson's renewed interest in us).

is Pearson getting a divorce? I thought his wife hated Houghton.

Oddly the private plane of Vaughn Custom Sports (Goalie Equipment) flew into Houghton from Willow Run (Detroit) yesterday and hasn't left yet. Are they flying our candidates around?

Frank Serratore would be nice if Mel didnt work out. He could coach against his brother in the same confrence again (CHA). Like Mel, Frank has been in the same area for long time. Do they want change? Culture shock (small town vs big town). Time will tell.

As much as I want Cary Eades to be the next Coach at Michigan Tech, I do think Mel Pearson is the front-runner based on his success and connection to Michigan Tech. If either of Eades or Pearson actually wants the job, MTU would be foolish not to give either of them the job...my only worry with Mel is he would bolt for Michigan as soon as Red retires if Michigan would take him back.
