MICHIGAN TECH HUSKIES...2016-17 season. 96th season of hockey (continued, part 2)

Re: MICHIGAN TECH HUSKIES...2016-17 season. 96th season of hockey (continued, part 2)

Matt Wintjes in goal tomorrow night, good job getting home ice for rounds 1, 2(if advance).
I think it will be Lake State for round 1.

I thought Dave Deris did a real good job. We have to play better, to quote the coach. I thought overall we fought pretty hard, but there were a few guys who just didn't work very hard.
Looks like we have clinched second. Shocked me that Mankato couldn't win.We certainly did get plenty of practice on the pp. We have to seal the deal better, I thought we sat back too much in the third, maybe not on purpose.

NMU had Tech on the heels most of the 3rd. That mental killer instinct is missing.

And Tech had NMU on their heels in the second, really should have been 4-1 or 5-1 going into the third but our powerplay continues to struggle.

fully agree

Looking better now, shaken off some of the bus legs and rust from the week off. Tied 1-1 13 minutes in. Very entertaining goal for us, ref jumping up on the net to watch the puck, very well officiated sequence.

Bus legs? Tech arrived in Marquette around 8 pm THURSDAY. Bus legs from that 1:45 trip the day before? Really?

Thanks MS. It was a terrific college hockey game that went down to the final tick on the clock. Being a Hancock Native, I have a lot of respect for the program I grew up with and was thrilled in October when I got to see Mike Zeke & Bob Lorimer and those guys that were my heroes when I was a kid. Looking forward to a full house again tomorrow night!

I always thought they bused over the day of the game, I guess I was wrong.

If the Friday game is at NMU, they've been coming over on Thursday for the past few years. If it's Saturday at NMU, they usually travel on game day, but they have gone down to Marquette right after the game on Friday as well.

Again, we suck on the PP and Redmond has let up a couple ridiculously soft goals.

And literally 5 seconds after I say that we score a PP goal, lol.

Feed fine all weekend until 3rd period tonight, anyone else have any issues? Lots of pausing and stuttering.

Re: MICHIGAN TECH HUSKIES...2016-17 season. 96th season of hockey (continued, part 2)

OK, it bit me last time, but after nothing on the 4 on 3 and 5 on 3 I still think our PP is pretty bad.

Re: MICHIGAN TECH HUSKIES...2016-17 season. 96th season of hockey (continued, part 2)

We just keep losing faceoff after faceoff in the offensive zone.

Re: MICHIGAN TECH HUSKIES...2016-17 season. 96th season of hockey (continued, part 2)

Going to lose senior night, way to send off the seniors

Re: MICHIGAN TECH HUSKIES...2016-17 season. 96th season of hockey (continued, part 2)

Pathetic, really a perfect metaphor for the entire season.

Re: MICHIGAN TECH HUSKIES...2016-17 season. 96th season of hockey (continued, part 2)

We have twice the shots, and half the goals. Sigh.

Overall, we need to stay out of the box, trading calls is a just bad deal for us. If we can get everyone moving legs, and avoid getting the crappy calls in the offensive zone we might have a chance.
