I'm not in Houghton, but it's cool that they're airing the games, and thanks to Shirtless if his question sparked this.


Now they just have to get the word out for the locals or the bars to turn the game on.


Did Eick travel?

Yeah, I was only allowed to tease the outcome, I knew the result but was asked not to say until MTU got to release the news...good on them for facilitating it with Charter. I'm not sure my inquiry changed anything but my inquiry last year certainly started the ball rolling on getting that series on TV. hopefully this year it goes better and there aren't any problems tonight in Houghton/Hancock.

I'm more excited as I've been for a game than I've been for a long time. Its a regular season game and I'm more pumped than I was for an NFC Championship game, that my team was playing in, that I had tickets to. This is insane.

Mel's Postgame interview
Game are tough on the road, they're #1 in the PWR for a reason
They brough their A game, we brough our C game
Decen 1st period, they got a few shifts in 3rd that got us on our heels, then some PPs
Can't say much mroe abotu Jamie, he was the reason we got 1 point out of here
Still haven't lost a game on the road, we can play better
We wont like the film when we watch it tonight, but Petan/Sturos had chances, need to create more of them
Our puck management was as bad as it's been in a long time, have to be better
Their PP is very good, have to be happy with only 3 penalties
We have to play better
We haven't experienced being trapped in our zone like that for awhile, have to get the puck out of the zone
We were fighting the puck all night, it was the whole team, we'll be better tomorrow

Dear God what a game. I'll take the point with how we played. Jamie is the best goalie in the NCAA, period. I don't think he's going to get the attention or consideration he deserved for postseason awards due to playing for Tech and not get enough exposure, but he is definitely the best goalie out there.

further reflection on the game. and tomorrow will be the test, but perhaps Mankato just really is a stronger team. not by much, but just a little bit better than we are.

It seemed that the Mavs had the speed advantage, Margonari shot past our d on the breakaway.
Gervais had to be called for goalie interference as he rammed Jamie into the goal.
The Mavs played better tonight and Jamie Phillips got us a tie.
Gould's cross bar was that close to beating them.
We need to get more shots from our gunners tomorrow, Tech had several fine moments tonight, but aswas said, they were stuck in their own zone far too often.
We needed a tie and a win this weekend. It is all left for tomorrow night, Go Tech.

If I had to focus on one thing, it's clearing the zone. If we do that better 75% of our problems are eliminated. Too many times we missed the chip or just didn't get the puck out that las 12".
