Re: Michigan Tech, best season in 30 years, part two!

Good game against a bad team.
I also like that are next games are against Mankato. Even with a 10-0 win, the team can't get overconfident or overlook the team between them and a WCHA championship. 2 weeks away!

1 point back of Mankato with 4 games to play.

Mel's postgame thoughts:
We were ready to play. Good start.
Jamie had to play well, 2nd period we weren't very good. They jumped us.
Good rushes, have guys that can score. Happy for Patrick Anderson.
Tough trip up here, they're 500 at home, good couple Ws.
Guys will get a few days off, then focus on Mankato.

We couldn't be sitting any better than we are right now, doesn't mean we can relax, on the contrary, foot on the gas and bring the MacNaughton Cup home where it belongs!!

I also want to point out that in our last 6 games we've outscored our opponents 36-4.

Just a quick post from the airport sitting here with the team. A lot of smiles from the team and coaching staff. The weekend could not have gone any better. Tech took care of their business and Mankato is coming back to the pack. I still believe the Cup will be decided in two weeks. Either team is more than capable of taking it... who wants it more?

Sadly, I don't think we will be. Unless some recruit comes in and lights it up, we'll be as bad as this year.

Again, I disagree with you. Looking at the effort on the ice, I see the underclassmen doing most of the hustling and bustling. The seniors, it appears, have thrown in the towel. They will be gone soon. I honestly think the problem is in the locker room, and involves the seniors, but that is my gut feeling. I think Thomas can turn this around with what he has coming in next season. This year there is simply no chemistry with this team.

The Cup may not be decided at MSU. We both have series after Kato :)

We need 3 pts or better at Mankato if we want to be in the drivers seat headed into the home & home.

Can't take any periods off from here on out. This is playoff hockey now.

Watching the Huskies last night made me think of the old Soviet teams. Skill, speed, strength, and very little celebration - just a cold blooded killer. It was scary at times.

We also got some help from Ferris to put Bowling Green 8 points back. If NMU can steal a point or two from the Falcons next weekend while Tech and Mankato are off, that will help some more.

All this winning is making me hungry for playoffs. I hope it isn't doing the same thing for the team, as there is still work to be done!

Re: Michigan Tech, best season in 30 years, part two!

Tech sweeps by a 15-1 margin to their 8th consecutive win... and drops from 6th to 7th, thanks to Michigan getting swept.
Tech is tied with BU behind MI for 2nd in offense (3.75) and is 2nd in defense to Yale (1.78 Goals against)
also, cool pic of Alex Petan.
