The Lattimore injury today was pretty awful. Not as awful as what LT did to Joe Theismann, but bad enough.

Still waiting for the hurricane. Supposed to start tomorrow with rain showers and intensify with rain for 36 hours and 60 to 80 mph winds. Landfall will be to the southwest on the Del/NJ shore. I am on the northeast side of the storm which has the strongest winds. The electric company called and left a message that we could be without power for 7 to 10 days. I hope not. LIRR train service will supposedly be suspended at 7PM tomorrow.

I'm guessing you don't have a generator. I know you know this, but make sure your vehicles are topped off. No power. No pumps. No gas. In Florida, many gas stations have generators so they can pump after a storm.

Nope, last year we got power back after 2.5 days. I am 10 miles from the ocean and not in an evacuation zone where it will be the worst. Coastal flooding and erosion along the shore is expected to be very bad as the storm will last through 4 high tides. Filling up with gas first thing in the am. Went shopping today for provisions including water. Will get some ice tomorrow for the coolers. Also will get cash from the ATM as they will not be working either.

When Alicia hit Galveston/Houston there were people with summer homes on the island that were legal before the storm, illegal after. She moved the vegetation line back, leaving those homes "on the beach" thus illegal.
