Michigan Tech at Denver - Friday 10/26/12

Re: Michigan Tech at Denver - Friday 10/26/12

Mark ERycroft is a former Pioneer and NHL player. PBP, Jay well Jay is Jay.

Do they occasionally engage in a torrent of malapropisms? Boy howdy.

Last week Rycroft said: "Makowski wasn't right in the head" last season. And last year he referred to Jussi as "juicy."

But they're lovable and have an atypical approach to their broadcasts.

Isn't Juicy his name?

Re: Michigan Tech at Denver - Friday 10/26/12

This was a dominating win over a Tech team that had beaten the mighty gophers. 5 goals in each of the last 3 games. The defense and the goaltending has been outstanding. The offense surprising.

Tomorrow is another day. And it is a day that I will be at Magness for the game. Keep it up boys. I'd love to witness another win!

I got no beef with that. And I have no beef with the local broadcast team calling the game from a local perspective. But when the color guy said that Tech was "gonna come out looking to hurt someone", I thought that was pretty ridiculous.
And not very lovable.

Another solid win and Sam is definitely the best goalie. I guess Jussi gets that start tomorrow.

Edit: Gwoz just said Adam Murray will start tomorrow in goal. He also said this is the best Tech team he has seen in his 19 years at DU.

Alumni Game tomorrow morning will feature NHL starts Paul Stastny and Tyler Bozak. Of course the famous Orange/Lemon competition will be held. Open to all for free at Magness at 11:15 AM.

I didn't hear that, but if in fact you are accurate, that would be lame. I'll review.

You're entitled to your opinion. However I think you're being way too sensitive and literal minded. In the long, glorious history of MTU hockey, no Huskie has ever "come out looking to hurt someone?" Ever? Seriously? From where I sit, that's "ridiculous."

That is one wrecked logic train you've hopped on board there.

I suppose it would be ridiculous to say that no Tech player has ever intended to injure anyone. They did have John Scott for 4 years ;)
But I don't know what that has to do with this game. Or this Tech team. Or this Tech coaching staff. To an outside observer, the color guy's comment made him seem pretty foolish. And the fact that there weren't even any real scrums (let alone an attempt to hurt anyone) for the remainder of the game kind of validates having that impression of him.

And thanks for your permission to have an opinion :)

As an aside, that was a nice game by Denver. Reminded me of the teams of Ruegsegger/Rhakshani/Maiani et al that used to be able to turn routine plays into goals, and quietly build up multi-goal leads.

Jeez, now that you've gotten that off your chest, will you please stop whining?
