Jarrod Mermis injured on the scoring play on a knee on knee hit. Mermis went to locker room. Tech player tossed.

End of 2. DU up 3-1. about 1:50 left on powerplay. Pios playing a great game. Let's hope J. Mermis is OK.

BTW, who is the new SID for DU? I'm kinda bummed that Bacher left because I made arrangements with him to be a freelance photographer with him for some DU games. Now, I need to transfer that deal to the SID.

wow... tech's assistant coach is very mad at the reffing... anyone watching, is it as bad as he says it was?? He's saying Denver is running interference on guys away from the puck, that they missed 2 denver contact to the head penalties, and was furious that they gave a game misconduct on a knee that neither ref saw (and according to tech radio guys) was questionable to even being kneeing after seeing the replay. Any Justification or just excuses?? Not looking to start a flame war or blame anyone for anything, just looking for an honest opinion from someone watching the game.

Replay I watched showed it to be knee on knee. Same call on Tabrum of DU last week with the same consequences.

Ok.. so it was a clear knee... how about the other stuff.. they(tech assistants) complained of DU running interference on off puck players during breaks in both intermissions.

The guys on the radio weren't sure because from the sounds of things it happened behind the play or the play moved away fast enough that they didn't really see it. They mentioned that someone was down, we scored shortly thereafter and then they went back to the injury but from the sounds of it they didn't see exactly what happened. They might have had a reply but they just played the replay of that goal and didn't mention seeing what happened at all.

Yeah man. Tech is getting completely hosed by the refs in this one. I have never seen such an attrocity in all my years of living. Mel is spot on.

Job has been posted for a new hockey SID. Nicole Dupes Bostel has been promoted to Bacher's Director of Media Relations position. Mike Kennedy is the interim hockey SID.
